UNIQUE
PHILOSOPHY
Developing unique people and athletes,
everyday.
Unique Swimming fulfills the needs
of area swimmers from developmental instruction, to age group
competition, as well as national and international
competition. Unique swimmers are part of a swim program that
maximizes individual potential and swimming experience with
professional, nationally recognized coaches, and highly focused
training groups.
A unique characteristic of
our club is that we are interested in swimmers of all ranges and
abilities. Unique Swimming offers swim development programs
which are solely non-competitive. Within our 10 and under and
age group programs, we offer developmental/non-competitive groups
as well as groups that are identified as highly competitive/highly
elite. Within our senior program we offer a high school level
development group, a pre-senior group which prepares athletes to
train at an elite senior level, and an elite senior group.
Unique Swimming also offers the only high performance program
in the area.
Unique Swimming has a mission to develop unique swimmers of all
levels, in a recognized program, that represents unique ability as
part of a team supported by an outstanding coaching staff and
parents.

Progressive Skill Levels:
The coaching staff will use skill levels and test
sets as a means of measuring as well as tracking each and every
swimmers development. The goal is to offer swimmers, parents
and coaches the necessary information needed for group
placement. Progressive skill levels will also be used by the
athlete to track his/her progress.
Program
Placement:
The coaching
staff determines the placement of each and every swimmer within
each program as well as each practice group. The coaching
staff cares about each and every swimmer’s development
therefore has each and every swimmer’s best interest as the
driving force when determining group placement. Ultimately the
swimmer’s skill level, performance level, as well as personal
desire will determine the placement of each swimmer within the
program.
The
unique 10 and under programs will focus on developing young
swimmers of all abilities. This includes swimmers with no
competitive experience, swimmers with experience in summer league
or lessons programs, as well as state championship
qualifiers. The main focus of the 10 and under programs is to
continue to enjoy and develop a love for the sport.
The
unique age group programs will focus on teaching and developing
competitive skills to new swimmers with no competitive experience
as well as swimmers competing at the State championship and
national levels. Swimmers in this program will focus on
advanced skill development, advanced technique/drills, interval
training, and aerobic conditioning. Age range for the unique
age group programs is 11 – 14 or middle school
level.
Senior Program:
The
unique senior program will focus on teaching and developing
committed swimmers ages 15 and older or high school level. The
senior program also offers a pre-senior group comprised of swimmers
ages 12 – 15. The focus of this group is on developing
committed swimmers for the high performance group as well as
national and international competition. Swimmers in this
program will focus on perfecting advanced skills, advanced stroke
mechanics, advanced training techniques, advanced racing
strategies, and mental discipline.
High Performance
Program:
The
unique high performance program will consist of elite athletes with
proper focus towards national, international and collegiate
swimming. Swimmers in this program also possess a strong
desire to train towards and qualify for USA Junior Nationals, USA
Senior Nationals, US Open, World Championships, as well as Olympic
trials. The high performance program requires the highest
levels of commitment, effort, motivation and
participation.
-
Swimmers in the above mentioned programs will be further
divided into practice groups in order to maintain effective
coach/swimmer communications, as well as to group swimmers of
similar ability, age, and interest. Each practice group will
have practice attendance requirements; meet participation
requirements, skill level requirements, coach’s expectation
requirements, as well as performance
requirements.
