About OAC
Olympic
Aquatic Club (OAC), founded in 1980, is known for a first-class,
year-round swim program. We offer a guided age-group youth program
based on the "Boomer" technique for swimmers age 6 and up, from
entry level to the elite competitor. Olympic Aquatic Club was
founded in 1980 by Geoff Pentz, then the Olympic Pool Manager and Olympic High School
swimming coach. The club’s purpose at that time was to
provide a feeder system for the local high school teams. This
remains one of the club’s major objectives today.
The OAC Mission
To develop the
character traits, technical skills and intense desire necessary for
realization of each individual’s greatest
potential.
The OAC
Philosophy and Vision
Is encompassed in the
words COURAGE and PERSEVERANCE. PERSEVERANCE is a cornerstone of
success in any challenging endeavor and a challenge can not be met
without testing and expanding ones limits. COURAGE allows one to
face the fear, difficulty, and uncertainty embodied within a
challenge. PERSEVERANCE and COURAGE are key qualities that help one
transcend difficult times. They allow the individual to find the
true strength of their character both physical and mental. The
Olympic Aquatic Club believes that COURAGE and PERSEVERANCE
developed by the competiitve swimmer, will help prepare the
individual for the challenges they will face throughout
life.
