About Us
The Clemson Aquatic Team (CAT) is a
not-for-profit, volunteer-based, year-round swim team serving the
Greater Clemson area. Established in 1978, CAT is a member of USA
Swimming (USAS) and SC Swimming and is the community partner of
Clemson University Swimming and Diving (CUSD). CAT practices daily
and hosts swim meets in the McHugh Natatorium of Fike Recreation
Center on the Clemson campus.
CAT athletes train year-round, emphasizing stroke
development, realistic goal-setting & achievement, effective
time management skills, and personal responsibility. Swimming is
the sports activity most recommended by physicians, providing
superb exercise, enhanced aerobic capacity, full-body muscle
development, and improved coordination. And when compared with
student-athletes in other sports, swimmers average the highest GPA!
There are no bench warmers in swimming! All CAT
swimmers can compete throughout the year at meets matched to their
achievement level. From the novice to the nationally-ranked
swimmer, CAT provides fun and appropriate training and competition
opportunities for all ages and abilities.
CAT offers four age-group training squads and an
active US Masters squad of adults. Each training group has its own
schedule, from 2-6 days per week. CAT athletes are ages five and
older.

If you want to observe a practice or talk to the
coaches at stated practice times only, enter the pool from the sun
deck at the back of the building. You may need to knock to get
in.
Fike is located across from the east end of the
Death Valley Football Stadium. You can get to the sun deck easily
from the side facing the football stadium. For CAT, please enter
only from the sun deck.
See the "Swim Groups" page for information and
