Welcome to Lakes Region
Wavemakers.
We are a
developmental competitive swim team spanning ages 5 - 18 and
swimming levels from novice to Region I competitors. We are proud
of our diversity and strive to maintain an open and welcoming
atmosphere for all who wish to swim. Our coaching staff covers a broad spectrum of styles and
is all accomplished athletes in their own right. They bring
enthusiasm and excitement to the sport.
All of our coaches,
are USA Swimming certified, and have access to the most
comprehensive training and certification program for youth coaches
of any sport in the United States. They provide assurances that the
time children spend in swimming will be quality time.
Lakes Region
Wavemakers is a non-profit, parent run club. The team is
managed by an elected Board of Directors that meets each month. All
members are welcome at each meeting and encouraged to be involved
in team activities and fundraisers
Swim Seasons
Our Winter Season runs from September 1st thru mid March. The
season comes to a close with the NHSA State Championships,
competing with over 13 other New Hampshire swim teams and 1100 +
swimmers. Our 2008-09 winter season ended with a 9th place
finish at the NHSA State Championships. There were great
performances in all age groups with many receiving medals for
finishing in the top 8 positions. Swimmers also make great
achievements by taking a number of seconds off their
“personal best” times.
In
April, the Wavemakers have offered the Wave swim clinic. This is a
4 week program that gives swimmers the opportunity to focus a bit
more on their individual techniques. It is also a great chance for
new swimmers to check out what a swim team practice is
like.
Our Summer Season
begins, in May and runs till the first weekend in August. During
the 2009 summer season we welcomed many new swimmers to the team
and continued to see great results at all of the summer meets,
which the Wavemakers participated. At the Queenie Quimby meet, the
team place 4th and in Division III at the GSSA Champs we came in
5th place!
