The Sahuarita Stingrays Swim Team is a nonprofit,
community based swim team for youth ages 5 to 18. The team
started in the late 1960’s and has grown today to include
over one hundred twenty local youth.
The Sahuarita Stingrays are proud to be the 2004
Santa Cruz league champions and the 2003, 2002, 2001 Tanque Verde
league champions!
This year we will be competing in the Pantano
League.
Objectives & Goals:
Our objectives this year are quite simple.
Let’s have fun, swim hard, be positive and improve. It is
also imperative for each of you to set personal goals. Whether it
be improving your time, your stroke, getting in better shape or
just having fun with your friends. We feel this is important and we
want to help you meet your goals.
Communication: There will be a
hanging file folder box with folders for each family on the swim
team. The box will be set out at each practice. Ribbons and other
forms are distributed this way. Please remember to check your
folder often and to check the website often. Since we have
started our new website, we are going to fully rely on
this. So, please check it often for meet information, meet sign
ups, times, locations, practice cancellations, etc. This
is our main form of communication! So please contact a board
member with any questions!
PLEASE BE PROMPT: Swimmers are
expected to practice with their respective age groups at their
specific location, unless prior arrangements are made with the
coach. This helps the practices run more smoothly and improve team
cohesiveness. If one age group is overloaded, swimmers may be moved
to a less crowded practice session at the coach’s
discretion.
