The 2009 Joplin Swim Team (the Stingrays)

The Joplin Swim Team 37th Year of Summer Swimming!

 The Joplin Swim Team is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization with a history going back to 1977 when it was formed as an unincorporated association. Since then the team has been providing a summer recreational-competitive experience open to area boys and girls ages under the age of 19.  The team is a member of the Tri State Swim Conference comprised of 12 teams from the four state area.  Practices begin the day after Memorial Day are held at Schifferdecker Pool Tuesday thru Friday mornings. The various Conference teams host invitational swim meets on the weekends through June and July with the conference championships being held the last weekend in July and the first weekend in August.  

Emphasis is on self­-improvement in swimming endurance and proper stroke techniques. Swimming is a lifelong athletic opportunity, which strengthens and tones the entire body.
