Our
Philosophy
The
Badger Aquatics Club program has been structured on the premise
that there are four basic phases of athlete development in
age-group swimming. At each level of the program, we continually
evaluate and adapt to the multitude of factors, both scientific and
sociological, that impact the growth and development of young
athletes. Experience has taught us that the perfect age group
program is a moving target that changes as the swimmers we
serve change and develop. The science of physiology has shown us
that there are "windows of opportunity" that occur at different
times for swimmers that will allow for the best development and
longest lasting results. Phase I is Basic Skill Development and
focuses on swimmers 11 and under. Little Badgers, Red and Gold are
the corresponding BAC levels for this phase. Phase II is Basic
Training Development for ages 11 to 14, represented by age-group
Blue. Phase III is Progressive Training for 13 to 18 year olds.
Participants would swim in Junior Green or the High School group.
Lastly, Phase IV is Advanced Training for ages 14 and over and
would swim at the Senior level. Swimmers interested in joining the
BAC team will be evaluated by an instructor and placed into the
appropriate group prior to the start of the session
