 Tex DohertyHead CoachEmail
Tex started swimming just before his 5th birthday and enjoyed 15
years of it as a swimmer -- for the past 18 years, he has enjoyed
swimming as a coach. During summers while attending Rice
University, Tex got his start coaching a summer league team for 4
seasons in Houston. After graduation, Tex stayed in Houston
and coached with the Cy-Fair Swim Club and the Jersey Village High
School team. He then moved to Petersburg, Alaska to coach the
Viking Swim Club, a team of 60 swimmers on an island (one of the
world’s most beautiful and rainy places).
In the 5 years that Tex coached in Alaska, the team grew
tremendously. Tex traveled often to the "lower 48" states for
Sectional, Junior National and Zone meets and coach a dozen state
records, a few Sectional Age Group champions, and countless State
Champions. He was named Alaska Age Group Coach of the Year in
2002 after his boys relay finished 12th in the nation in the 200
Medley Relay.
He moved to Farmington, New Mexico to coach the Four Corners
Aquatic Team (FCAT), another small team that grew under his
leadership. There, his team looked towards the Western Zone
meet as a marker of their success, qualifying 3 swimmers in 2004, 5
in 2005, 7 in 2006 and finally 13 in 2007 when the Western Zone
Championships were held in Farmington. Along the way, Tex
received the New Mexico Age Group Coach of the Year award in 2005
and saw swimmers progress from State qualifiers to Western Zones
finalists and Sectional finalists.
Tex moved to the Broomfield Barracudas in March of 2008 to offer a
solid swimming program from the beginning swimmer to the Olympic
Trials. Tex is committed to the work, patience, perseverance,
and task of building a winning Club!

 Andrew BrandWhite, Advanced White CoachEmail
Andrew started swimming at age
nine for the Evergreen Hurricanes and swam high school for the
Evergreen Cougars, where he was a part of a state champion medley
relay team his senior year. Andrew was actually recruited as a
cross country runner before he was recruited as a swimmer. He swam
collegiately at the University of North Dakota and qualified for
NCAA nationals all four years. Andrew was named an honorable
mention All-American his Junior year and All-American his senior
year. During the summers while in college, Andrew was the head
coach of a summer club team in Bailey, CO. He coached swimmers who
still hold numerous Colorado seasonal state records and had
multiple top eight finishes at the JO’s meet, from kids who
only swam three months out of the year. After college in 2006
Andrew moved to Denver and began coaching for the Broomfield
Barracudas and for Northglenn High School. In his first season
coaching at Northglenn, Andrew was voted Front Range League Coach
of the Year by his peers. During his time with the CUDAs, Andrew
has been instrumental in leading the age group program as the club
transitioned Head Coaches and has developed multiple Colorado state
champions.
Thomas L LowenthalRed, Silver group coachEmail
Hailing from Chicago, Tom brings
over 15 years of competitive swimming experience to the CUDAs.
Swimming for the Academy Bullets in Aurora Illinois, Tom was a
member of a Junior National Championship team in 1995, a Nationally
ranked age group swimmer, Illinois High School State record holder
and State Champion. He also swam on scholarship for the University
of Tampa where he was All-American and an NCAA qualifier in his
lone full season before injuries set in. Recently he graduated with
his Master’s in Teaching from University of South
Florida in Tampa and relocated here to
Broomfield. Tom is now a successful open water swimmer, and
has a great focus on stroke technique due to his prior injuries
with the sport. His enthusiasm for the sport shines while working
with our age groupers as he balances fun and learning daily.
 Jonathan BurgessDevelopmental CoachEmail

every swimmer is excited about swimming. Jonathan hopes his
love for swimming and knowledge of the sport will shine through him
to make each swimmer faster.
