El Dorado has a new Head Coach! Rick Laing joined our
EDAC family in November 2008. He, along with his wife and their two
children, moved to Tucson seven years ago from New Zealand, where
Coach Rick earned his international coaching reputation. With over
15 years experience on deck, coaching age groupers right up to
Olympic medalists, Rick coached along side his father, legendary
New Zealand coach Duncan Laing. He helped New Zealand star Danyon
Loader win gold in the 200 and 400 freestyle at the 1996 Atlanta
Olympics, and silver in the 200 fly at the 1992 Barcelona games,
and he coached olympian Liz van Welie.

Eriko Mitsuya

Coach Eriko has grown up on
both sides of the Pacific. Her earliest coaching experience
was gained by helping coach her high school team in
Japan
. While
in college at
Michigan
, she coached
under Eric Namesnik, an Olympic silver medalist from the
Barcelona
and Atlanta
Games. In
Tucson
, Coach Eriko
has coached both summer leagues and
USA
swimmers.

Kyle R Krieg
assistant Coach

Kyle will begin working for us as an assistant coach on March 9,
2009. Kyle has worked for the City Of Tucson
since 2003 as a life guard, swim instructor, life guard instructor,
water safety instructor, supervisor and coach. He assisted
the Sahuaro High School swim team in the fall of 2008. He is
currently enrolled as an education major at Pima Community
College. Kyle grew up at the Eastern Hills pool and is eager
to begin working as a coach now with EDAC at his neighborhood
pool.
