Aron Nakama

Aron is from Wisconsin , where he had a very successful high school and club career. He was a 6-time Wisconsin State Champion, and 1998 High School State Champion in the 100 free. He attended 7 Junior National Championships 1996-99. Aron competed in one Senior National Championships in the summer of 1996. As a letter winner at Iowa State , he was a Big XII Conference Finalist in 2001. He also was Academic First Team Big 12 Conference. Aron has been the Head Coach of ACAC since 2002. He also is the site supervisor for the local Swim America program. Aron has served as the 2003 Commissioner of Iowa Games Youth Swimming and as an Iowa Zones Coach from 2003-2005. Aron has also coached in the International level. In 2004, Aron served as the Head Coach for Team Uruguay at the 2004 Short Course World Championships in Indianapolis.

Recently, Aron has coached 2 athletes to Junior Nationals. His athletes have won numerous state titles and have won several Age-Group divisions at the state championships.

Lucas joined ACAC after attaining his Master’s degree in Human Performance at the University of Memphis. In addition to a Level 2 certified swim coach, Lucas is a certified strength and conditioning specialist. He is from Brazil, where he coached swimmers from novice to Masters level. He has also previously coached High School soccer and volleyball. His previous experience working with youngsters also includes teaching physical education classes for elementary, middle, and high school students.

Lucas’ path as a swimmer was an unusual one, since he started competing late, already as a Master swimmer, and made his way “back” into club swimming. During the two years he was working in his Master’s degree, he kept himself close to swimming by joining a club team in Memphis.

An absolute passionate about the sport of swimming, Lucas is excited about joining ACAC and ready to help taking the program to the next level!
