Mike is considered one of the finest coaches in the southeast.
He formally coached at Lakeside Swim Club in Louisville where he
was an assistant from 1969-72 and as head diving coach from
1972-2002. For over 30 years he has coached divers to spots at the
National Age-Group and Senior National Championship as well as
coaching numerous divers to the Indiana and Kentucky State High
School diving championships. He had a part in producing two Olympic
divers, including Amy McGrath Watson and Ellen McGrath Owen.
Zehnder has also had over 70 divers receive diving scholarships
during his coaching tenure.
A native of Louisville, Mike is married to the former Jenny
Goldberg and has one daughter Kimberly, and two sons, Nicholas and
Scott.
Robbie was a four-year letterman
for the University of Louisville where he was coached by Mike
Zehnder. During his career for the Cardinals he was 1meter, 3meter
and platform champion his freshman year in Conference USA.
His following three years in the Big East, he was in the finals on
both one and three meter springboards every year.
Robbie is from Louisville and dove with the Lakeside and Louisville
Area Divers. He made Age Group Nationals every year he
dove. His best performance coming his final year with a
seventh place finish on platform.
Marianne was a four
year letterman at the University of Louisville and was one of the
team captains her senior year. Marianne made finals on one
and three meters at the CUSA championships her freshman and
sophmore years. She also made finals in both one meter and
three meter at the Big East Conference Championships her junior and
senior years.
Marianne is from
Indianapolis, Indiana and dove for the Indianapolis Starzs.
