I started swimming competitively around the age of 12. I swam for the Junior Warriors (then known as the Walled Lake – Sarah Banks) Middle School team. After Middle School, I swam all four years of High School at Walled Lake Western, where I was a 4-year varsity letter award winner, 2-time “Warrior of the Year”, and was named co-captain in my senior year. During those years, I also swam year-round for The Sports Club of West Bloomfield and for Tridents.
This will be my 6th year coaching. I first started coaching with the Junior Warriors as a volunteer during my senior year of high school (2009). The year after, I was hired as an assistant coach for Junior Vikings Middle School team over at Walled Lake Central. After my stint with the Junior Vikings, I came to Tridents as an Assistant Coach with the Competitive group. This will be my 4th year coaching at Tridents.
While at Tridents, I've worked with every group at some point or another. As a coach, I've helped develop numerous swimmers into Junior Olympic and State qualifiers. As a coach, I push swimmers to be the best that swimmer that they can be through proper technique, quality training, by setting high expectations, and developing goals with them.
In addition to coaching, I have been teaching swim lessons for Walled Lake Community Education and other local programs for the last 7 years. I have also given back to Michigan Swimming by serving as the Chair of the Board of Review from May to December of 2014. Also, I graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 2013, where I earned a degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in Social Studies, and a minor in History.
