I grew up in Johnstown, Pennsylvania and started swimming when I
was 9 years old. In high school I was a 8 time individual
All-State recipient, 8 time PIAA district 6 champion & record
holder, PIAA state high school champion and 6 time high school
All-American. I was a sprint specialist focusing on the 50
freestyle, 100 freestyle & 100 butterfly. I was a
multiple event qualifier and competed at JR & SR nationals and
was also an Olympic Trial qualifier. At nationals I placed
4th in the 50 freestyle 2 years in a row. In college I
continued swimming finishing my career with 6 NCAA All-Americans.
I am excited & happy to be back with the Tridents family. In
middle school & high school I would train in the summers with
Texas Aquatics under Eddie Reese & Jill Sterkel. Their
passion for the sport & coaching styles are what has inspired
me today. Technique & quality not quantity molded me into
the swimmer I was and is what I strive for in those that I coach.
I am currently the Head Varsity Coach of the High School Girls at
Walled Lake Northern and just completed my 6th season with the Lady
Knights. I have coached over 20 All-Conference swimmers, had
2 All-Conference individual titles, over 10 individual Division
titles, over 30 All-Division swimmers, 8 state finalists, 4 team
Division titles, 4 City titles in 6 years, coached the first female
swimmers to ever make states, final at states, and eventually make
All-State. The 200 Medley Relay became the first relay &
female swimmers to achieve All-State status placing 8th at the 2011
MHSAA State Meet. I have seen every record fall in my tenure
at Northern. Academics is very important to me & my
athletes. At Northern we have been Academic All-State from
2008-2012. In 2008-2010 we had the highest GPA in the entire
state of Michigan. We don't know our rankings yet for 2012.
I am also the Head Coach of the Walled Lake Consolidated Middle
School team of Clifford Smart & Walnut Creek. This is my
second year coaching Middle School as last year I served as the
head coach for the Jr. Vikings. This season we had 12
swimmers qualify for the state/MISCA meet. At MISCA meet we
had 2 individual state titles in the 100 & 200 freestyles and
the first swimmers from Walled Lake to win a state title in a relay
did so in the 200 freestyle relay.
Swimming has been a big part of my life for many years & I
look forward to helping out the swimmers & coaching staff
develop well rounded swimmers & individuals

I
have lived most of my life in Novi, where I started swimming
competitively around the age of 12. I swam for the Junior Warriors
(then known as the Walled Lake – Sarah Banks) Middle School
team. After Middle School, I swam all four years of High School at
Walled Lake Western, where I was a 4-year varsity letter award
winner, 2-time “Warrior of the Year”, and was named
co-captain in my senior year. During those years, I also swam
year-round for The Sports Club of West Bloomfield and for
Tridents.
This will be my 5th year
coaching. I first started coaching with the Junior Warriors as a
volunteer during my senior year of high school. The year
after, I was hired as an assistant coach for Junior Vikings
Middle School team over at Walled Lake Central. This will be
my 3rd year coaching at Tridents. In addition to
coaching, I have been teaching swim lessons for Walled Lake
Community Education for the last 5 years.
Currently I’m enrolled as a full time
student at Eastern Michigan University, where I’m pursuing a
degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in Social
Studies, and a minor in History.

I have spent my entire life living in Farmington Hills, Michigan
and started swimming when I was 5 years old at Beechview Swim Club.
I began swimming year-round around the age of 7 for MSSA (Michigan
Stingray Swim Association) which later joined with the FDR
(Farmington Devil Rays- who swam out of the YMCA)to become FFYS
(Farmington Family YMCA Stingrays). I swam my high school years for
the Harrison-Farmington Phoenix swim team where I was a 4-year
varsity recipient, senior captain and qualified individually three
years to swim at the Division 1 State Meet. I mainly swam the
breastroke events, mid-distance freestyle events, and the IM.
My love for the sport grew
over the endless hours I stared at the black line during practice,
the weekends I spent on the pool deck at swim meets all over the
country, and the memories I made hanging out in hotels with my
teammates. I studied Secondary Education at Michigan State University
and love being able to motivate and help swimmers succeed and reach
their goals.
I have coached for the past
6 years during the summer and helping out during high school.
Currently I also coach the Walled Lake Northern Boys and Girls
teams with Ross Bandy and our very own Jessica Stoddard. This will
be my first full season with the Lake Area Tridents and look to see
both the club and the swimmers grow into the swimmers they can be.
