Jim Malley - Head Coach email Jim Malley's success in swimming began at an early age and progressed to the 1968 US Olympic Swim Trials where he swam the 100 and 200 meters Backstroke events. He attended Colorado State University and as a CSU swimmer broke the American Record in the 200 yards Backstroke event at the NCAA Finals in 1967. He was an All-American Swimmer, "Most Valuable Swimmer", Team Captain, and CSU's "Most Inspirational Athlete". Jim competed for Bellarmine (1961- '63), College of San Mateo (1963-'65), and Santa Clara Swim Club (1965-'68). As a swimmer for SCSC, he placed in the Indoor and Outdoor AAU Senior Men's National Swim Championships. His coaching experience includes: CSU Men's Assistant Swim Coach, National Swim Coach for Guyana, South America, Tunis, Tunisia (Peace Corps Volunteer), and Greece. He was the Head Swim Coach for the Tucson Racquet & Swim Club, Poudre High School Swim Team, and the Loveland Swim Club. He has developed Arizona Age Group State Record holders and High School State finalists, Junior National qualifiers and finalist, and Masters National finalists. Jim graduated from CSU with both a Bachelor and Master Degrees in Education. He's married and has two children. He is also an Elementary School Teacher in the Franklin-McKinley School District. |  |
