The Staff and Board are here to support your needs. If your questions are related to workouts, meets, events, goal setting, and other swimming related needs, please contact one of the coaches. COACHING STAFF

Seth Urffer

Lead Cadet Coach

Seth joined BLUE as an assistant coach in February 2013. Since that time Seth has worked with all levels of athletes within our program and has leant his expertise, creativity and passion for the development of youth athletes to all of BLUE's members. Seth will be leading the Cadet group beginning spring 2018 while focusing his efforts on taking this training group to the next level.
 
Concurrent to leading the Cadet group, Seth also leads in coordinating our Nazareth “Swim For Your School” program, Nazareth Varsity Clinic and Summer League team, the “Nazareth Narwhals”. Seth is a trusted advocate for developing the sport of swimming in Nazareth's community and surrounding areas. Seth continually dedicates his resolve to establishing continuity between our entry-level feeder programs and our most experienced athletes. 
 
Going into his fifth year, Seth also continues to serve as the Head Coach of the Nazareth Area High School Varsity Swim Team. Under his tutelage, the team has seen steady progress each year and enjoys celebrating Nazareth's most successful seasons in school history.
 
Seth is a native to the Lehigh Valley, growing up in Fogelsville, Pennsylvania. He swam competitively for Bob Clark as both a member of the Parkland High School Team and USA member of WET/PAAC. After graduating in 2004, he spent two years competing at the DIII level for Lycoming College in the MAC conference. He currently resides in Orefield.

Adam Coffman

Lead Royal/Navy Coach

Adam Coffman comes to Blue Eagle with a wealth of athletic and training experience and is currently our Lead Royal/Navy coach starting in spring 2018. He has trained as a competitive athlete for the last 25 years. Adam has coached swimming at the age group, senior, high school and collegiate level. He currently trains high level multi-sport athletes for National and International competition. Adam's passion is to help others achieve their potential. In order to better serve the individuals he works with, Adam obtained a Master’s Degree in Exercise Science and a Doctorate in Administration and Leadership.

As a college athlete, Adam trained and competed at Clarion University. He was a member of Clarion’s 3 PSAC Conference Championships while attending. After graduating, he turned his attention to multi-sport, martial arts and adventure racing.

Whether as a teacher, coach or personal trainer he strives to maximize each person's potential he has the opportunity to work with.

Jason Reinhard

Lead Teal Coach

Jason joined BLUE as lead of the Teal group in August 2017. Jason has over 15 years of coaching experience in the Lehigh Valley. Jason has held various positions (including Head Coach) with Trident Swim Club, Assistant Varsity High School Coach at various schools including Nazareth High School and in 2012, Jason served as Head Coach with Salisbury High School, where he led the boys team to both District XI Champions and PIAA State Champions.

As a swimmer, Jason began swimming competitively as an 8-year-old for Trident Swim Club and competed for WET/PAAC under coach Bob Clark over the fall and winter. Jason graduated from Parkland High School in 2004 where he was a three-time district champion in the 100 backstroke, team record holder for the 100 backstroke and 200 medley relay, and member of a state champion medley relay. Jason is a strong believer in quality over quantity and is passionate about the safe and functional development of our younger and less experienced athletes.

Jason graduated from Duquesne University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Programming. Jason is currently employed with Computer Aid Incorporated as a programmer and works at their corporate building in Allentown. He currently resides in Macungie with his wife Gwen and their daughter Jemma.

Matthew Ellis

Coach Ellis (as he prefers to be called) will be assisting in the Royal and Navy groups multiple days per week. Ellis grew up swimming with the Pocono Family YMCA team and swam for Stroudsburg high school from 94­-98. He swam one season at Kutztown University. After returning home, he began coaching with PFY and at Stroudsburg High School, where he was the assistant for two years and the head coach for his final year. While working at Stroudsburg he graduated from East Stroudsburg University with a degree in health and physical education in the fall of 2009. For the past seven years, he has been teaching and coaching at Easton Area School District. As the head coach at Easton High School for the past 5 years, Matt has many district and state qualifiers. Matt will continue serving the swimming community with dual roles: caretaker of Easton HS Swimming and Royal/Navy Assistant for BLUE.

Art Zawodny

Coach Art will be assisting our Royal and Navy groups starting in spring 2018. Art began swimming competitively almost 40 years ago with YMCA programs in Northern NJ. He completed his age group career with five top 10 finishes at NJ HS state championships in backstroke and freestyle and several top 25 finishes at YMCA nationals. Art attended Rider College, now University, and competed in the swim team from 1984-1988 where he earned 6 top-5 finishes in the East Coast Conference Championships.  In 1986, Art won the ECC 100 Backstroke title.
 
Art began swimming Masters in 1996 and continues to train in the pool.

Hanna Wingert

Email

Hanna is a native of Mechanicsburg, PA, where she grew up swimming for Mechanicsburg Swim Club and eventually for the high school. She then attended Messiah College, swimming for the NCAA Division III program and majoring in Art Education. Throughout college, Hanna taught swim lessons for all levels and for one season was able to serve as an assistant coach for her former swim club. By her junior year, Hanna was elected to be a captain of the swim team, leading the swimmers in and out of the pool and directing workouts during the off-season. Her senior season and 15th year of competitive swimming proved to be her most successful, as she worked with the women’s team to become Middle Atlantic Conference champions, placing high in individual events and anchoring several winning relays.

As a swimmer, Hanna loves to sprint freestyle, but as a coach, she believes in practicing and perfecting technique in all strokes while creating a challenging yet fun environment for the athletes.  She became a resident of the Lehigh Valley in the summer of 2015 and is excited to be coaching for Blue Eagle Swim Team. Currently, Hanna teaches elementary art in Allentown School District and lives in Bethlehem with her husband, Dan.

Andrea Radai

Coach Andrea began swimming at age 8 for North York Aquatic Club in Ontario, Canada. As a swimmer she specialized in butterfly and freestyle. At age 13, she was provincial champion in the 50 freestyle. She swam in University with the McGill Masters Team while earning a degree in Chemical Engineering. Andrea moved to the U.S. in 2006. Andrea is fully committed to our quality over quantity philosophy and is a very passionate coach!

Kyle Shoemaker

Kyle has been with BLUE since April 2016. Prior to that, he served as Team Director of Penn Jersey Aquatics. Since joining BLUE, Kyle has worked with athletes of all ages in our USA Swimming groups. Kyle brings considerable leadership experience within the sport of swimming, as well as in the non-profit sector. The core of Kyle's coaching philosophy is the expectation that every swimmer's desire to succeed must be matched with an equal willingness to succeed. He believes that character development and growth play a primary role in a swimmers success and tailors workouts to stimulate that growth.

As a swimmer, Kyle trained with Atlantis Aquatic Club before attending Clemson University, where he was a four-year letter winner and two-year captain. Kyle graduated Clemson University with a degree in Mathematical Sciences. Kyle's notable accolades, as a high school swimmer, include being PIAA State Champion and record holder, Junior National and U.S. Open qualifier and USA Swimming Scholastic All-American. While at Clemson, Kyle was an ACC finalist, U.S. National/World Championship Trials Qualifier and a school record holder.

In addition to coaching, Kyle works in the financial services industry for a national firm with an office in Bethlehem. Kyle is also a co-founder of Nica Nadadores, a non-profit swim team and international youth development organization.
