Hanna is a native of Mechanicsburg, PA, where she grew up swimming for Mechanicsburg Swim Club and eventually for the high school. She then attended Messiah College, swimming for the NCAA Division III program and majoring in Art Education. Throughout college, Hanna taught swim lessons for all levels and for one season was able to serve as an assistant coach for her former swim club. By her junior year, Hanna was elected to be a captain of the swim team, leading the swimmers in and out of the pool and directing workouts during the off-season. Her senior season and 15th year of competitive swimming proved to be her most successful, as she worked with the women’s team to become Middle Atlantic Conference champions, placing high in individual events and anchoring several winning relays.

She became a resident of the Lehigh Valley in the summer of 2015 and is excited to be coaching for Blue Eagle Swim Team. Currently, Hanna teaches elementary art in Allentown School District and lives in Bethlehem with her husband, Dan.
