Jeremy has been with the SMAC swim team since the age of eight. He has taught swimming for the past 15 years and has been a coach for SMAC for 9 years. During which, SMAC has consitintley placed among the top 6 teams at MI LC Summer State Championships.

He is the primary coach for swimmers in the Silver, Gold and Senior groups. He has coached T-16 national qualifiers, state record holders, National, Jr.National, Sectional and Zone qualifiers, and many State Champions.

Jeremy is also the Head Coach for the Monroe High Boys & Girls Varsity Swim Teams. During his years as Head Varsity Coach, the Trojan Boys & Girls teams have won the Mega Red Conference Championships every year and have placed among the top 15 teams at Div.1 State Championships. He has produced several High School State Champions as well as numerous High School All-American Swimmers & Relays.

Jeremy is also in charge of planning and developing the SMAC team website. He graduated from the University of Toledo with a degree in Business.

JUSTIN M LAYMAN

Justin has lived in Monroe his entire life and has swam for SMAC since the age of eight. He has been teaching swimming for the past 11 years and has been a coach for SMAC for 9 years. He is the primary coach for swimmers in the Minnow groups and the Bronze group. Many of Justin’s swimmers he taught as 8&unders still swim today with great success, because of his strong emphasis on technique and having fun.

He graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a degree in Elementary Education. Justin is currently a Title 1 teacher at Ida Elementary.
