Lloyd has been coaching nearly 30 years. This is his 16th year (32nd season) with Team Foxjet. Lloyd is an ASCA Certified Level 5 Coach. He has coached swimmers from the younger levels through Junior Nationals, US Open and US Nationals. Lloyd has coached over 100 Nationally-Ranked swimmers (Top 10 or Top 16), including several National Age Group Champions and Record Holders. Earlier in his career Lloyd coached at clubs in California, South Carolina and Iowa. USA Swimming also selected him as an assistant coach for the elite Central Zone Select Camp. Lloyd was also an accomplished athlete with many years of swimming with AAU, Edina High School, St. Olaf College and post-collegiate swimming in the military. At St. Olaf, he was an MIAC Conference Champion, NCAA Division III National Qualifier and Co-Captain.
Lloyd believes that developing life skills and fostering personal growth are the key roles of youth athletics. He espouses and lives by our Core Values of Integrity, Family, Attitude and Ambition. Lloyd's primary coaching duties are with the National Team, while also serving as the team's primary administrator.
Head Age Group Coach
This is Coach Ryan's 5th year (9th season) with Foxjets. Ryan has coached country club, high school, and masters swimming along with his club coaching. Immediately after college he started coaching for the Edina Swim Club and then made his way to be Head Age Group Coach at Foxjets. He primarily coaches the Silver groups, and oversees the entire Age Group and Developmental programs.
Under Ryan's guidance athletes have achieved:

> 4 out of 6 Age Group Team State Championships as Head Age Group Coach
> Minnesota Age Group Coach of The Year 1998
Recently Ryan has been coaching swimming for over 20 years, while raising 3 beautiful children with his wife Mellanie.
Lead Coach National Age Group
We are pleased to welcome Denise to the Foxjet Coaching Staff. She began her career in 1987 after graduating from the University of Minnesota, having coached with several local clubs since that time. Denise has coached all levels from novice to masters throughout her career. In the 30 years she has been coaching, Denise has worked with swimmers of various abilities, achieving over 40 National Top 10 times, over 30 Minnesota State Records, as well as Junior National qualifiers. Many have gone on to college careers as well.
It is Denise's goal to see athletes gain confidence and important life skills through their involvement in the sport of swimming, and use those skills as they pursue their chosen life paths. She is an certified ASCA Level 4 coach, and coached the Minnesota Zone Team six times. Denise has also been active in Minnesota swimming governance, serving as the president of the Minnesota Coaches Assocation, plus terms with Minnesota Swimming as a Coach Rep and Disability Chair.
Denise is married with 4 grown children and one new grandchild!
Lead Coach Bronze Groups
Foxjets are pleased to welcome Bill back to the staff! This will be his third tenure with Foxjets since 1997. Bill's first coaching position was founding the Saint Anthony Sailfish in 1969 (just out of college). A proud alumnus of the University of Minnesota, Bill was an educator in the Minneapolis Public Schools for over 30 years, teaching elementary physical education. The majority of those years he taught on the North side of Minneapolis. Bill says this was a great experience!
He has coached all levels of swimming from Seniors to 8/Unders. When asked "Why are you still coaching?", Bill's immediate response is "I'm having too much fun!" When you see Bill on deck you will see a lot of energy, enjoying swimming and working with kids. Teaching, coaching, and being a positive influence on these young peoples lives are Bill's passions. He is excited to return to the coaching staff that has been assembled at Foxjets! He looks forward to the beginning of the season and working with all the talented swimmers in the Bronze group.
Bill and his wife Cindy and have two adult children - Vaughn and Brittany (a former Foxjet too!).

Chris J Mayer
Lead Coach Minifox and Red
This is Coach Chris' 8th year (15th season) with Team Foxjet. We are very excited to announce his return to our staff. Chris worked as a Foxjet coach for seven years before taking a small break from coaching. For the past four years Coach Chris has been coaching at another club. He is excited to return as our 8/Under Lead Coach, developing our newest swimmers and expanding our programming!
Chris began his coaching career in 1990, graduating with a B.F.A. from the College of Visual Arts in 1994. He worked for Deaton Museum Services as a fabrication artist for a few years designing and building movie sets, including “Fargo.” In addition to his coaching career, Chris is an elementary art teacher at St. Bartholomew School.
Director of Dryland, AG Assistant
This is Jenny's 4th year (8th season) as our Director of Dryland and assisting with Age Groups. She is very passionate and knowledgeable about injury prevention, particularly with swimmers. Jenny is a former NCAA Division II National Champion (100 Backstroke, 2004). She knows the aches and pains swimmers go through to reach their goals. Her goal now is to work with swimmers to develop muscle balance with strength and flexibility to allow them to compete to their fullest potential. Jenny is a chiropractor, and owns Midwest Chiropractic and Wellness in Eden Prairie. She is an industry leader in injury-prevention and strength development. In her free time Jenny enjoys running (and still swimming!).

Assistant Coach Bronze and AG Prep
This will be Ellie’s inaugural season coaching with Foxjets, where she will assist with several groups. As a former Foxjet herself, she swam at the 2012 Olympic Trials with our team. She recently graduated from the University of Missouri, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science. During her four years in Columbia, she competed at the Division I level for the Mizzou Tigers. This past year, she qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 400 IM. After 14 years of competitive swimming, she is trading in her cap and goggles for a stopwatch and clipboard. She has experience coaching swim camps, teaching swim lessons and working with swimmers of all ages. When she’s not at the pool she loves to cook, bike and spend time with her family and two dogs. She is looking forward to being part of Foxjets once again and working with such a great group of swimmers!

Nancy started swimming when she was 8 years old, where she swam with Brooklyn Swim Club and Park Center High School from grades 9-12. She swam at four Junior National swim meets during her USA swimming career, and attended UND where she swam>
Lead Coach Age Group Prep
This is Sarah's 5th season coaching with Foxjets. A native of Iowa City, she started swimming as a freshman in high school. Title IX was passed about a year later which opened up many opportunities for female athletes, including scholarships. Sarah swam for the University of Iowa four years (three years on scholarship) and placed in the top 5 (three times) at the Big Ten Championships in freestyle events. After college, she participated in Master's swimming in Iowa, Ohio and Connecticut before moving to Minnesota where she met husband Steve (while planning the 1993 Masters National Meet).
Both Sarah and Steve have been active with Foxjets since their children Daniel and Kirsten started swimming in 2005. Most meets would find them on deck as volunteer officials. In August 2017, the whole Nelson family swam two relays at the Masters Nationals (combined age-group 160+) held in Minneapolis and wearing Foxjet swim caps for the 200M Free Relay!
Sarah is excited to continue working with developmental groups, sharing her love of swimming and having fun in the pool.
Assistant Coach Bronze
This is Brian's 7th year (14th season) with Team Foxjet. He brings 16 years of coaching experience in Minnesota swimming. He was also the Bloomington Jefferson High School Girls assistant coach for two years. Before beginning his coaching career in 1998, Brian swam competively for 15 years with the Richfield Swim Club, Barracuda Aquatics Club and the Bloomington Kenndy High School for four years. He was also a member of the Team Minnesota Zone coaching staff in 2007. Brian believes that perfecting technique and individual effort, coupled with team support, will give the swimmer a long successful swimming career.
Assistant Coach Bronze
This is Courtney’s 3rd "official" year (5th season) with Team Foxjet, but she was also an assistant coach for 5 summer seasons while home from college previously. Once a college graduate, Courtney started out being an assistant coach for multiple groups and then from January to July of this year, she was the Lead Coach for Bronze 1.
Courtney began swimming competitively at the age of 5. She is originally from Seattle, Wash. and moved to the Twin Cities in 2007. She joined Team Foxjet at that time and swam with them through high school accomplishing levels such as Speedos and Zones with them. She is a graduate of Minnetonka High School, Class of 2011.
Courtney then went onto college and graduated from Southern Connecticut State University in 2015, where she has a BS degree in Journalism, Communications Video Production, and Photography. Courtney was a 4-year DII athlete and all 4 years she was a Conference Top 8 Finalist for their swimming program in 100 & 200 breastroke -- Top 3 Finalist in the 400 IM and 200 butterfly her senior year -- Dean's List student respectively multiple semesters.
She also is a 2017 graduate of St. Paul College, where she earned her American Sign Language & Deaf Studies Certification.
Courtney enjoys swimming still -- as she is an athlete for a local Masters program. She is a 3-Time USMS National Champion with that program in IM, breastroke and butterfly. Courtney also loves spending time with her family and her dog. She is excited to be back for another great season, just as an assistant coach this time!
Tasha Lyn Embry
Assistant Coach Minifox, Red, Silver
This is Tasha's 5th year (10th season) coaching with Team Foxjet. She works with Minifox, Red Groups and Age Group Bronze. Tasha is very experienced with our develepmental program and an expert coach for younger swimmers. Tasha comes to us from Martha Burns Swim School (where she still works) teaching swimming for several years. An all-around athlete, she was a competitve swimmer and gymnast at Hopkins High School. Tasha has also worked with the YMCA, at two locations, teaching swimming lessons and working with kids. She is a great teacher, motivator and communicator with young children.
Graphic Designer, Assistant Coach
This is Andi’s 10th year with Team Foxjet. During her tenure, she has served as a Lead Coach or Assistant Coach for nearly every group on the team. A native of Grand Forks, Andi was a high school swimmer, head coach of the Bemidji Area Swim Club and most recently, has added Graphic Design to her duties with Foxjets (her professional field away from the pool).
This is Ariel's 11th year (21st season) with Team Foxjet, all of which have been coaching with our Age Group program. Ariel is the longest-tenured assistant coach for Age Groups in the history of the Foxjets, and does a superb job with this skill level and age. Over 200 swimmers that have come through the Age Groups during her tenure have achieved a Minnesota Swimming State Meet "Champ" time at some point before the age of 13. She is a graduate of Kenyon College (Ohio) where she was a four-year letterwinner and team captain. During her thirteen years of swimming experience, Ariel gave private summer swimming lessons to children for seven years in and around her home town of Pacific Palisades in Southern California. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and works for Wells Fargo.
