Rod Lundgren
Centennial Coach
Coach Lundgren has
25 years of age group coaching experience. Rod has coached for Bend
Swim Club, Corvallis Aquatics and Mount Hood Swim Team. Through
Rods age group programs he has produced swimmers that have gone on
to swim at Senior Sectionals, Junior Nationals, Senior Nationals
and Olympic Trials. Rod was also the head swim coach at
Gresham High School from 1993-1997 and had the honor of coaching a
few district championship teams as well as state high school
finalists. He was also honored the MHC coach of the year. As a
swimmer Rod swam with Bend swim club and was a member of Bend
High School’s first swim team, where he set many high school
records. While in college Rod swam under the Lewis and Clark swim
team and briefly with the Oregon State swim club. Rod is now a
certified school teacher and the aquatics director for the
Centennial School District. Rod is very passionate about the
Maverick Age group program. He believes that swimming is one of the
most valuable life-long skills that a person can learn and he
enjoys watching and helping his age group swimmers move up through
the Maverick program.
