Bob has 45 years of coaching experience, earning honors as American
Swim Coaches Association (ASCA) Coach of the Year, as well as Coach
of the Year in Oregon and Florida. He was a member of the 1956 U.S.
Olympic Team. Over the years Coach Miller has coached at all levels
from 5 year olds to Olympians. He started the Cascade Swim Club as
well as the Totem Lake Swim Club. He spent 16 years as Sr Coach at
the Bellevue Club. In August 2006 he won the Masters Swimming World
Championships in the 200 Meter Backstroke (75 - 80 age group) and
set a world record in that event.

Carolyn”
Carolyn has been coaching BISC since 2001. She has also coached the
Seattle Club masters program, and was an assistant swim coach for
Arizona Marlins Swim Club.
Carolyn was a Collegiate Swimmer at Arizona State University, All
American Collegiate Swimmer and Team Captain and graduated from
Arizona State with a degree in Elementary Education

Peterson”
Patti is a senior aquatics instructor with the
Parks Dept and teaches Water Safety at BHS as well as working as an
assistant coach for the Boys High School Swim Team. She has a
BA in Speech and Hearing from USCB. She enjoys working with the
younger swimmers and has developed a strong Novice Swimmer
program.
LEILANI TONSMANN

"Leilani Tonsmann"
Leilani is currently an instructor with the
Parks Dept. She holds a BA in Education from Arizona State
where she swam competitively from 1980-83. She obtained her MA
in Education from CWU and taught elementary school for 8
years. She loves working with the younger swimmers and has
been working with Patti in developing the Novice
swimmers.
