brings to the Napa Valley Swim Team a wealth of coaching experience
from numerous programs and regions of the country. Highlights of
Coach Green's career include assisting with the National team for
the Mission Viejo Nadadores, serving as the Graduate Assistant
Coach for the University of Georgia, heading up the Decatur (IL)
Swim Club (where his teams won three Illinois Senior State titles),
assisting at Arizona State University, and most recently assisting
at the nationally renowned Ford Aquatics of Tucson. Coach Green is
an ASCA Level 5 Certified coach. He coached for the USA Swimming
National Select Camp in 1995 and 2003, served on the USA National
Team Coaching Staff in 1995, once earned four consecutive ASCA
Certificates of Excellence, and has coached swimmers to the U.S.
Olympic Trials in 1992, 1996, and 2000. Coach Green believes that
the high demands of competitive swimming provide a unique venue for
the development of a multitude of invaluable personal traits, such
as team spirit, goal orientation, work ethic, time management,
perseverance, honesty, and accountability. Coach Green, originally
an Indiana native, was born into a swimming family: his father, the
late George "Herr" Green, retired from coaching high school
swimming with over 300 career dual meet wins. Coach Green earned
his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Butler University,
his Masters of Business Administration from the University of
Georgia, and has taken PhD. courses at the University of
Arizona.

Kathy Hague
Assistant Coach

Kathy Hague, brings 30 years of coaching experience to the Napa
Valley Swim Team. She is our
Age Group II and
Age Group III Coach. A graduate from the University of Oregon
with a degree in Recreation and a specialty in Aquatics, Coach
Hague has specialized in developing young age group swimmers. Her
greatest desire is to give these swimmers the technical tools in
which to succeed as swimmers and have fun during the process. It is
also very important to her that each child develop a sense of
"teammanship" and learn the importance of supporting their
teammates both in and out of the water.

Gina Barsotti
Assistant Coach

Gina Barsotti has been coaching here at the Napa Valley Swim Team
for the past 6 years, working with young swimmers to improve their
stroke technique. Gina has been swimming, teaching and coaching for
a total of 27 years. She first started her coaching career with the
Chico Aqua Jets. In addition to coaching the Napa Valley Swim
Team's
Olympic Way,
Novice and
Age Group I swimmers, Gina has been instrumental in developing
our successful Pre-Olympic Way, Olympic Way and Novice swim
programs. For a real challenge Gina also teaches adult swim classes
at both Napa Valley and Solano Community Colleges .

Reed Phillips
Varsity Coach

By his own admission Reed has been coaching swimming for as long as
anyone can remember and for as many teams as anyone can count. He
is our
Varsity and Seasonal High School Program coach. He also is an
assistant swim coach for the Napa High School team.
