Brandon began swimming competitively at 8 years-old in Spring,
TX. He went to school at Ford, Houser, York, and graduated
from ORHS. Brandon swam on varsity all four years of high
school, qualified and finaled in Ponderosa every year since he was
11 years-old and swam on P.A.C.K. until he graduated high school.
Brandon decided it was time he gave up competing, and wanted
to pursue coaching during his college years. Brandon coached
for the Oak Ridge North Otters for four years where he still holds
pool and team records. Upon graduating college, Brandon continued
to coach a little longer for the PACK club team. Brandon now
works at Automatic Data Processing and is engaged to be married in
Meredith began competitively swimming for The Woodlands Swim
Team when she was 8 years old. She swam year round for The
Woodlands for 10 years and made the National Team 2006-2008.
She was also on The Woodlands High School varsity swim team and
lettered all four years. She went on to swim for Iowa State
where she specialized in mid distance and distance free and
fly. While there she was voted Team Captain her senior year
and most improved her junior year. She holds the top 5
fastest times in the 1000 free, 1650 and 800 free relay at Iowa
State. Also she holds top 15 fastest times for the 500 and
200 fly at Iowa State. She was an Iowa State Scholar Athlete
and made the Academic all Big 12 First Team from 2010-2012.
She has taught swim lessons for 9 years now, coached for Swim
America, and coached for the Iowa State swim team this past
fall. She graduated this past December with a degree in
Exercise Science and a minor in psychology. Meredith plans to
attend nursing school in the fall.
Coach Kyle, one of our own beloved Seals, entered into the
swimming world in New Jersey while swimming for his neighborhood
swim team when he was 8 years old. In 2006, Kyle moved to
Imperial Oaks, where he joined IOST. He also swam for Oak
Ridge High School for all 4 years, lettering each year. Kyle swam
for the club team PACK for his final two years of high school under
head coach, Mike McCauley. In those 4 years with the Seals, Kyle
qualified for Ponderosa every year. He set and still
currently holds records for our Seals. After graduating from ORHS
in 2009, Kyle went on to swim for two years at The University of
the Incarnate Word before deciding to end his swim career and
transfer out to Texas A&M. (Gig'em!!)
He is currently studying Motor Behavior at Texas A&M, with
hopes of becoming a Physical Therapist in the future. Kyle's
coaching experience includes 4 years of private swim lessons and 2
years of summer league experience as a Co-coach for the Bridgestone
Blue Dolphins. Coach K's favorite stroke is the Butterfly.
He enjoys the outdoors, the beach, playing other sports such as
basketball and spending time with his family and friends. --Not to
mention watching his Aggies and Texans win!!!
Dayne Le Blanc
Coach Dayne, another one of our own beloved Seals, started
swimming in 1999 at the age of 5 for the Seals. Dayne
began swimming club with TWST in 5thgrade and
swam with them until 9thgrade. His size
attracted all the football coaches and after many attempts to get
him to play, he finally gave in. He played football for only
a year and realized that he was not cut out for the sport. He
considers himself more of a gentle giant! He joined the Oak Ridge
Swim Team his freshman year and was voted Team Captain his Junior
and Senior Year. His most notorious stroke was breaststroke,
in which he still holds several IOST Team Records.
In the Fall, Dayne will be going to College Station,
to begin his college career. He will start at Blinn and
quickly transfer over to Texas A&M. He plans on majoring
in Business with the desire to own his own someday.
His favorite things are going to the gym, (he can bench press
400 pounds) and fast cars!
The way a team plays as a whole determines its
success. You may have the greatest bunch of individual stars
in the world, but it they don’t play together, the club
won’t be worth a dime.
