Coaching Staff

Janet Herman

Head Coach

This will be Janet’s sixth year as Head Coach of Del Amigo. Janet is originally from Southern California where she both swam and coached for one of the premier swim teams in the country, Mission Viejo Nadadores. Her 19 years of coaching experience with the Nadadores included heading up the Novice program and Dirctor of satellite programs. Janet coached the 8 year olds and younger with the San Ramon Valley Livermore Aquatics for three years before taking the position as head coach for Del Amigo. Janet is an advocate for all abilities to ensure a positive environment for all athletes where everyone contributes and is a valuable member to the team.

Mark Gremban

Assistant Coach

Mark recently finished his senior year at University of Redlands. This will be Mark's thrid year coaching at Del Amigo. He is a graduate of San Ramon Valley High School where he swam and played water polo all four years. Mark swam USS for 7 years with the San Ramon Valley Livermore Aquatics. Mark has taught swim lessons at Del Amigo for the past several years and does an exceptional job with the young kids and is a great motivator with the older kids. We are looking forward to having Mark on deck again is year.

Taylor Herman

Assistant Coach

Taylor swam USS for 7 years before turning his attention to water polo. He graduated from San Ramon Valley High School in 2007, spent his freshman year at Long Beach State where he played water polo. He recently completed his sophmore year at Diablo Valley College wher he swam and played water polo. He was an All American Swimmer his senior year of high school as well as being selected to the NCS All Star team for water polo. Taylor competed for Del Amigo for four years. This will be his second year coaching at Del Amigo and he looks forward to sharing his passion for the sport with our kids.

Elizabeth Burchard

Assistant Coach

Elizabeth has been a rec swimmer with Del Amigo for the past 7 years. She recently finished her senior year at San Ramon Valley High School where she is a varsity water polo and varsity swimmer for her high school team. Elizabeth has worked with many of our swimmers over her years as a junior coach and teaching Dynamite Dolphins. She is one of the "favorites" according to our younger swimmers. Elizabeth is looking forward to coaching this summer and sharing her enthusiasm with the team.

Kelsey Comes

Administrative Coach

Kelsey recently finished her sophomore year at UCLA. She is a 2007 graduate of San Ramon Valley High School. Kelsey began rec. swimming at the age of 6 and continued until she was 12. She then joined USS swimming for SRVLA. She has been a DAPA team meber since 2003. Kelsey was on the SRVHS varsity water polo EBAL championship team, as well as the NCS Championship team for the 2005 season. She was voted the most valuable player her senior year. This will be Kelsey’s fifth year as an administrative assistant coach for Del Amigo. Her positive thinking and can do attitude is a great asset to the Del Amigo team.

Matt Dentone

Assistant Coach

Matt swims for the University of Hawaii and has just completed his freshman year. He is a 2008 graduate of College Park High School in Pleasant Hill. He earned four letters in swimming, was named MVP in 2006-07 & 2007-08 seasons. He was the 2008 NCS champion in the 200 Freestyle. He won all league honors in 2006-07 & 2007-08 seasons. This will be Matt's first year coaching at Del Amigo. He is excited to meet all the new families and kids.
