Welcome PARA racers and families. We hope you enjoy your stay at Liberty Mountain Resort and have a fun race!

Message from the Race Chairman
Ski Liberty is proud to sponsor this event and wishes to extend a warm welcome. LMRT and Ski Liberty have an excellent relationship and they provide us with a tremendous amount of support. Ski liberty is also concerned about the safety and convenience of its other customers. Therefore, the management has made several requests from us that must be strictly adhered to:

1.       Please park in the regular parking lot (on the stones) at the front of the mountainDO NOT park in the Boulder Ridge lot on the back side of the mountain. This is a small parking lot for snow tubing customers only. There is a skier drop off circle at the front of the mountain.
2.       Ski Liberty has reserved a room for us in the basement of the Boulder Ridge Lodge. It will be marked “PARA Racers Only". When using Boulder Ridge, food may be purchased in the lodge but PLEASE eat your lunch and keep your belongings in the room only. You may drop off your lunch and non-skiers in the morning but please do not park there. Shuttle buses run continuously from the circle in the front to Boulder Ridge.
3.       Fast skiing outside of the race arena will not be tolerated. Ski Patrol will be enforcing this by revoking tickets, in which case you will not be allowed to race.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Format:  Non-scored USSA Giant Slalom
·          The event will be 3 runs for J3 – 5’s, and 2 runs for Masters and athletes 8 years old and under.
·          1st and 3rd runs will include all racers. 2nd run is for J3-5’s only.
·          1st and 3rd runs will be combined for awards, however, all three runs count for J3 and J4-5 Derby qualifications.
·          The 2nd run will begin 10 minutes after the 1st run. (There will be no course reset or inspection for the 2nd run.)
·          2nd run start order will be the reverse of the 1st run (2nd run J3 – 5 only).
·          The course will be reset after the 2nd run, with an inspection following.
·          3rd run start order will be flip 15 for Masters and flip 30 for all others.

General Information

Lift Tickets will be sold at the discounted group rate of at Group Ticket Sales in the Ski School/Clock Tower Building, not at the Ticket Sales Windows. They accept cash and credit card payment. Please purchase your lift tickets ASAP after registration to avoid long lines at the Group Sales Counter. After 8:30am, the lines may be quite long.
Free Skiing - Athletes are encouraged to free ski on the back side of the mountain before their run. The lifts are faster and the lines are shorter than those on the front. Again, fast skiing outside the race arena is prohibited. Please observe all slow signs and trail postings. Strata, Ultra and Eastwind are good trails for free skiing (rather than Heavenly).
Food Services & Restrooms on the back side of the Mountain - Food services and restrooms are available at the base of Boulder Ridge tubing area and at the South Pole facility at the base of the back-side lifts (next to Ski Patrol). When using Boulder Ridge, please use the room reserved for PARA racers.
3rd Run Start Time - The third run start time will be announced at the conclusion of the second run; normally about 90 minutes following the last racer of the first run.
Race Viewing - If you are not skiing and would like to view the race, please take the Shuttle from the circle to Boulder Ridge Tubing Lodge. Once there, walk to the far end of the parking lot, to the finish area at the bottom of Whitney’s Way. Boulder Ridge Lodge has a cafeteria and restrooms.   Please do not park at Boulder Ridge. Parking there is for tubing customers only.

Remember to safeguard your belongings. There are lockers available in the lower lever of the lodge and there is a free ski check outside.
