Summers Farm Fun Day
As many of you already know we are organizing a fun day (3:30-7:30 ish p.m.) at Summers Farm for the swimmers/families in Silver, Gold 1 and Gold 2. Below is information about the day. Last year the swimmers had a great time. If you have any questions please let me know. Another email will be sent out next week with more specific details as necessary. We hope to see everyone there!
Who: All swimmers from the Silver, Gold 1 and Gold 2 groups are invited.
Where: Summers Farm - 5620 Butterfly Lane, Frederick, MD 21703 301.620.9316
When: Saturday, October 21st from 3:30-7:30ish p.m.
Cost: $16 per person. This cost covers admission to Summers Farm, the Campfire, and Smores
What: This is a great opportunity for the Age Group swimmers and families to come together and have a fun time away from the pool. This year we have a campfire reserved for the entire time we are there and we will provide the necessary ingredients for the swimmers to make smores. Summers Farm has a corn maze, pumpkin patch (pumpkins are purchased seperately), fun games and good food. Here is a link to check out what they have to offer (Summers Farm). We will have an assigned campfire. If swimmers want to wait until it starts getting dark to go into the corn maze, please make sure they have a flashlight.
Fireworks: There will be a fireworks show at dusk. We will still have the campfire so swimmers and families are welcome to watch from there. The "MAC" event will end after the fireworks.
Chaperones: We do want to have chaperones for this adventure because we are expecting a great turnout and it is a large farm. MAC will pay for chaperone tickets. Please email Coach Chris if you are willing to chaperone. I will let you know who is chaperoning on Thursday, October 19th after we know how many swimmers are going.
Parents/Families: We would love for parents, siblings and family to join us.
Signing up/Billing: There will be online registration for this event.
Attire: To make it easier to keep track of the swimmers we are asking that everyone wear their red MAC t-shirt. If it is chilly that day, they can wear the shirt over their other layers.
Chairs: You are welcome to bring a chair to set up by the campfire but we will not be able to accomodate everyone's chair. Please understand some chairs will not be set up and there will be sharing of chairs that are set up.
Pick up: If you choose to drop your swimmer off, please be back to pick them up when the fireworks end (just after dark). That is when our chaperones will be "off-duty". Swimmers and families will have paid for the entire day so you are welcome to stay until they close.
