Volunteers Needed - Masters Swim Meet |
|
Description
UPATED 11/10/09 -We’ve had an overwhelming turnout for
our first November masters meet—over 100 entrants with more
arriving. Thus, we have split the timing sessions into a 9:30 am to
1 pm shift and a 1 pm to 4:30 pm shift. Timing is an easily
acquired skill that the head timer will review with you prior to
your starting. It affords a great view of some excellent swimming
from masters athletes of all ages including several of our local
masters including the world record holder in the men’s 60-64
1500-meter free, Jim McCleery, and NWAC coaches Annie “the
Hammer” Conto and Jason “the Bruiser” Hunter. As
well, we are expecting excellent competition from out of town
swimmers including a man who will be pursuing the world record in
his age group for the 400-meter free. If you are not at the Kamiak
Age Group Invite and have a few hours free a week from
Sunday.
On Sunday, November 22nd the North Whidbey
Masters swimming team will host a Masters Swimming Meet and we need
your help.
