Welcome to the Ketchikan Killer Whales Swim Club!

KKWSC was started in 1973 by Gene Horne, with an emphasis on skill building and competition.  Enthusiasm and support for the sport was generated during this first year, as parents took an active role in the club.  From these beginnings, KKWSC has increased its membership to over 80 swimmers competing on a year round basis in meets ranging from Alaska to the Pacific Northwest and the Western United States.

KKWSC is organized as a nonprofit organization and is open to all swimmers ages 6 and older, from novice to national competition levels.  Killer Whales strives for the athlete to attain maximum potential as both a swimmer and a contributing team member, and encourages a family-oriented experience, where the parents can play an active role in their swimmer’s and the club’s development.

Swimmers interested in joining Killer Whales, should have completed Level 3 in swim lessons, or be able to demonstrate freestyle and backstroke, and good listening skills.  We look forward to seeing you on the pool deck!
