7/1/09 - **JULY 4TH
PRACTICE** We will have practice on July
4th for the Elite Team only. Practice will be from 8:00-10:00
AM @ Marmion Academy. The coaches wish all our
swimmers and their families a happy and safe 4th of July weekend.
7/1/09 - **CALENDARS
UPDATED** We have updated all our group
calendars until July 18th on the
Calendars page. At that time, we will be in our
Championship practice schedule (details on that will be out
shortly). Please speak to your group coach if you have any
questions on the schedule through July 18th.
7/1/09 - **PPD ENTRIES
POSTED** A new version of our Palatine
entries has been posted to the
Events/Meets page with updated entry times.
6/24/09 - **SCST ENTRIES
POSTED** We have posted the preliminary
entries for the SCST Regional Time Trial Meet (July 25-26) on
the
Events/Meets page. Please note that this meet does have
qualifying standards for swimmers to be entered. Any changes
to the entry must be emailed to Coach Todd prior to 8:00 PM on
Thursday, June 25th. No changes will be made to our entry
after that time.
6/7/09 - **OLY MEET ADDITIONAL
INFO** We have posted some additional
warm-up information for the Oakland meet this weekend on the
Events/Meets page. Please also note that Oakland
University is 1 hour ahead in time zones from Chicago. Be
sure to plan your trip to the meet accordingly.
6/4/09 - **PPD ENTRIES
POSTED** The preliminary entries for the
PPD Summer Splash (July 10-12) have been posted to our
Events/Meets page. Any changes to the entry must be
emailed to Coach Todd prior to 9:00 PM on Thursday, June 5th.
No changes will be made after that time. Please email Coach Todd if you have any
questions.
6/3/09 - **CALENDAR
UPDATED** Our
Calendars page has been updated with the practice schedule for
June. Please note we start morning practices on Monday, June
8th. We know that some schools have altered schedules due to
a number of make up dates added to their calendar. If your
swimmer is still in school on or after June 8th, please email Coach Todd as we are trying to
make an alternative practice for those swimmers.
5/20/09 - **WEST CHICAGO
ENTRIES** Preliminary entries for the
West Chicago Summer Splash (6/26-28) have been posted to our
Events/Meets page. Any changes must be emailed to Coach
Todd prior to 8:00 PM on Thursday, May 21st. No changes or
additions will be made after that time.
5/7/09 - **BACK AT
MARMION** Marmion Academy has re-opened
today and we will be returning to our normal practice
schedule. Please see our
Calendars page for details.
5/4/09 - **TWO MORE COLLEGE
BOUND** Congratulations to two more
Bullet swimmers who have decided on where they will attenidng
school and swimming in the fall. Will Butzke
will be a freshman at St. Louis University. Catherine
Shilka will be attending Hillsdale College.
Congratulations to both of them and all our graduating

4/22/09 - **BULLETS SELECTED FOR
CAMP** Five Bullet swimmers were
preliminarily selected for a unique camp and training experience
with USA National Team Head Coach Mark Schubert and Olympian Matt
Grevers. The selections were based off of accomplishments in
middle to long distance freestyle and IM events. Bullets who are
automatic or alternate selections are: Kally Fayhee,
Courtney Pope, Olivia Scott, Nicole Ligeza, & Will
Heidler. Details on the camp can be found on the Illinois Swimming site.
4/20/09 - **MORE COLLEGE
SIGNINGS** Two more Bullet swimmers
recently comitted to schools over the break. Congratulations
to Chris Greaves on attending Augustana College
and Taylor Birsa on attending Truman State
University next fall. Keep track of all our Bullets and their

4/20/09 - **APPAREL FITTING
REMINDER** Just a reminder that Swimmers
Edge will be coming by all our locations this week for families to
purchase Bullets apparel and equipment. Any equipment or
apparel requirments for the Bullets can be found on the Summer 2009
Apparel Form. All families should have received an apparel
order form and details via email. Extra forms can be found on
the Forms/Documents
page (be sure Lewis families print out the Lewis form and Aurora
families the Aurora form). Swimmers Edge will be at Vaughan
on Tuesday (5:00-6:00 PM), Lewis on Wednesday (5:00-6:00 PM), and
Marmion on Thursday (5:30-6:30 PM). Please email Coach Todd if you have any
questions.
4/20/09 - **MASTERS STATE
CHAMPS** At this weekend’s ILMSA
Short Course State Championships, Lida Kuehn won
five events (50 Free, 50-100 Fly, 100-200 IM) in th women’s
45-49 age group, while Stephanie Dold won the
women’s 18-24 200 IM. Todd Walter, who
joined the Bullets in September, broke Iowa state records in
men’s 40-44 1000 & 1650 Freestyle events in his
final meet representing Iowa Masters. Coach Chris
Colburn was named 2009 ILMSA Coach of the Year!
Congratulations to everyone who participated. Way to go

4/1/09 - **STROKE CLINIC
INFO** We will be offering a stroke
clinic for any interested swimmer (not just current Bullets) again
this season. The stroke clinic will take place at the Vaughan
Athletic Center April 6th thu 9th. Details can be found on

3/30/09 - **NEW BULLETS
COACH!!** We are excited to announce
that we have a new coach joining the Academy Bullets.
Mike Laurich will be the Head Coach of our Lewis
University team. Mike has spent the past 4 years as the Head
Coach of the Lyons Swim Club and is one of the most successful and
well respected coaches in the state. We are thrilled to have
Mike lead our Lewis Team and help grow the program in the coming
years. Please feel free to email Mike at mlaurich@gmail.com and welcome him
to the team! He looks forward to seeing everyone on deck
soon. Updated information on our Lewis Team has been posted
to our

3/28/09 - **ZONE
SELECT CAMP** Congratulations to
Kevin Butz, Nick Bessler, and Sean
Lehane on their selection to the USA Swimming Zone Select
Camp. This is an opportunity for some of the fastest young
athletes in the country to train and learn together as they move
towards national level swimming. Please visit the

3/26/09 - **JUNIOR NATIONAL
RECAP** The Bullets had an excpetional
meet in Orlando, Florida last week at the NCSA Junior National
Championships. The Bullets finished 8th Overall and 3rd as a
Women’s team...the highest finish by any club in
Illinois. There were 3 National Championship perfromances
over the week: Olivia Scott (50 Fly),
Women’s 200 Free Relay,and the
Women’s 400 Free Relay. Please go to

3/25/09 - **BULLETS
WIN AGE GROUP STATE!** The Academy
Bullets won their 4th consecutive Age Group State Championship on
March 13th thru 15th. The Bullets won by nearly 500 points to
capture their 7th age group state title. Congratulations to

championship perfromances, top 16 finishers, and record breakers

3/25/09 - **SENIOR STATE
CHAMPIONS!** The Bullets won their
second consecutive short course Senior State Championship this
season and only the second team title in Bullets history.
With a fairly young group of swimmers attending, this is a
tremendous feat for our swim team. Congratulations to
everyone who was part of this state championship performance.

MEET** Congratulations to all our HS
