 Swim-a-Thon

Every season, the Lansdowne Lightning holds a swim-a-thon to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  This year’s swim-a-thon is being held from 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7 at the Coton Pool.  It will be held in lieu of regular swim practice.

This year’s swim-a-thons are proud to sponsor 6 year old Mark Allen Isabelle.  Mark was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) at the age of 4.  He is currently in his 3 Year Continuation Phase of his leukemia treatment.  During this phase, he receives multiple chemos on a daily basis, steroids one week a month and an antibiotic 3 days every week.  He is also subject to spinal taps for the next 3 years to ensure that the cancer has not spread to his brain.  He is a strong little boy who loves to play like any other kid.  He love playing baseball and swimming for his swim team.  This September, he will be entering the first grade with all of this friends. To read more about Mark, his family’s blog can be found at:  http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/markisabelle

Packets were passed out at practice on June 18th.
