Team Open Water Swim Picnic - Lake Berryessa Swim Saturday June 6

A great time was had by all at the Lake Berryessa open water swim!  The community food table was great and the water was perfect: smooth and cool.  Unofficially 39 Creek swimmers swam the 2 mile race, and 32 swam the 1 mile race.  Age group winners included B.J. Henry, Suzanne Heim-Bowen, Donna Monroe, and Roque Santos. Ed Lane claims he won at least one of his two races, but his ID anklet chip reportedly failed and we may never be able to confirm that he was even at the event.

Huge Walnut Creek Turn Out (69) at Lake Del Valle Open Water Swim

Suzanne Heim-Bowen finished first among all women. Other first place finishers included B.J. Henry, Coach Kerry , Don Brown, and double winners Ed Lane and Donna Monroe, who both won their .75 and 1.5 mile races.

March Madness Participants Talk
About Their Experience

The Board of Walnut Creek Masters has decided to discontinue Newsplash our periodic newsletter. The plan is to funnel team communications to our website with occasional email support. Two frequent features of the newsletter are Kerry’s Coaches Corner column and the “question man” series where a selected group of members are queried about a common experience. We are beginning to move these features to our website.
