BEAR
Swimming
BEAR Swimming is a year-round
program sanctioned by USA Swimming.
The program’s purpose
is to promote swimming as a life sport, while offering
opportunities which encourage the recreational beginning swimmer
and challenge the serious competitive athlete. The team provides
sound swimming technique, self-motivation and personal development
with a focus on long term enjoyment of swimming and fitness.
Competition is a way to develop individual skill, confidence and to
build team spirit.
BEAR Swimming’s experienced
coaching staff will bring the most out of your
children.

Swimming Torch Team
Torch Team is recognition for
swimmers who register ’legal’ (non-DQ) times for every
event in their age groups. At our May awards dinner, Torch
Team members will receive a special towel to recognize their
achievement. Keep track of your events to qualify for Torch
Team. On the website we will have a regular listing
of BEAR Torch Team members!
Talk to your group coach if you
have questions about your status for Torch Team
eligibility. For swimmers who ’age up’ in the middle of
the season (thus creating additional required criteria for
events) appropriate adjustments will be made. We
want everyone in the water frequently, to gain valuable
experience in all four strokes and in IM’s.
