Childhood fitness has become a NATIONAL TRAGEDY! Recent medical reports have warned that many
of our children are not just overweight, but are having problems
with outright obesity. They lack even
minimum levels of appropriate physical fitness. Youth obesity has become epidemic in the United
States! We KNOW we can put your child
on the Pathways to great physical fitness.
When you learn skills in competitive swimming, without
knowing or focusing on physical training, you will simply
acquire outstanding levels of fitness from the effort of
learning new skills. It is a fun and
easy way to acquire both skills and physical fitness. Your child will develop great friends in the
Pathways Program that will also make the acquisition of higher
levels of fitness and skill easier than you could ever
imagine!
How to Get Started. If your
child can swim, simply chose a time that is convenient, fill out
the online questionnaire, and then come to your first session. We will have your child join in the group
for the initial session. If it is what
you wish to do, then you can go to your computer and register and
pay your fees online. That is how
simple it is to get started. Start your
child of the PATHWAYS to FITNESS, FUN and FRIENDSHIPS

NEW NATIONAL RECORD HOLDER IN THE 100
YARD BACKSTROKE
Golden West Swim Club swimmer, Cindy Tran,
16, pull off one of the biggest upsets in this year’s Grand
Prix Meet. She upset highly favored Mary
Descenza (24-Georgia), the national Grand Prix Series High Point
leader in the 100 yard backstroke with a sizzling
52.52. Cindy jumped on the out split with a
25.31, and came home with a 27.21 split. The record came on
the final day of the meet, January 19th, that was held at the
Belmont Plaza Olympic Pool in Long Beach,
CA.
The time was just under the present National
Age Group Record in the Girls 15-16 year old
division. The old record belonged to two
times defending Olympic Champion in the 100 Meter Backstroke,
Natalie Coughlin with a 52.55 in
1998.
