It's the state of the art learn to swim program in the world today.  SwimAmerica ™ is brought to you by the same people who brought you the most successful sport team on the planet, the USA Olympic Swimming Team. What we learn, teaching people to set world records, we use to teach new swimmers to enjoy swimming with the best techniques in the world... just like the development of great cars and trucks from the NASCAR and INDY car races. We learn from and teach the elite athlete AND the new child! SwimAmerica ™ is a curriculum that has been developed by a committee of the American Swimming Coaches Association to provide the finest learn-to-swim progression in the world. 

Our coaching staff has been professionally prepared to offer your child the very latest in teaching and learning.  The program is  goal-driven and technique oriented.   The program is operated by using ten stations or levels.  Swimmers will move to the higher skill groups as they achieve the advancement goals of their present group. 

By being goal driven, we now have specific skills that must be mastered before progressing to the next level.  We will be able to reward the swimmer at every phase of their progression and build their confidence as they are learning to swim. By being technique oriented, we are bringing more emphasis to teaching proper stroke mechanics from the very beginning.   Our coaches will emphasize correct learning from the very first lesson.

SwimAmerica ™ Swimming Suits are now required for students in the Parent and Tot, Pre-school and School Age classes.  Order online at: http://www.swimoutlet.com/nisdswimamerica. These suits will facilitate your child's lessons by making them more smooth in the water.  Larger materials used for recreational style suits are looser fitting and heavier in the water.  This makes learning more difficult because it takes the swimmer out of body alignment and forces them to exert more effort to stay afloat. The SwimAmerica ™ suits are made to fit tightly and will not have loose tops or bottoms.  The swimmers will not need to spend time adjusting the suit.  These suits will also allow us to identify our lessons swimmers from the team kids, although many of the swimmers will use this suit as there first team suit. This is alright as it shows the coaches that their hard work and good teaching does help the kids advance in their goals. We will honor the wearing of the suits to the Family Open Swim times at both the NISD Natatorium and the George Block Aquatics Center pools.  This will save money as you enjoy getting some extra practice time between lessons. Sizes range from 3t - 4t and 22 - 28.  Remember that the suits are to fit tight but will stretch after time.  Adult sizes are not available.
