The Pueblo West Swim Club was reformed in 1992 by Cheryl Drummond and Rachael (Drummond) Aragon. Cheryl, a long time swimmer of Pueblo, CO in her youth, and coach for Rocky Ford Blue Marlins swim team during her early twenties, moved back home to Pueblo West with her 11 children and found the former Pueblo West Swim Club no longer existed. Hoping to have a team for her children, she and her eldest daughter Rachael, reformed the team and began tryouts for new and upcoming swimmers in Pueblo West. The reformed team consisted of about 15 swimmers, 11 of them being Cheryl’s own children. In a short time the team grew in numbers and has continued to be a highly competitive team in the Southern Colorado Aquatics League (SECAL), winning league championships several times. PWSC has continued turned out a number of State Qualifying swimmers year after year. The Team started off being a family oriented group and has carried on that tradition with Cheryl’s daughter Gwen still coaching.

Our club is a USS year round competitive swim team offering high quality professional coaching and technique instruction for all ages and abilities. The goal of our team is to provide every member an opportunity to improve swimming skills and achieve success at his or her level of ability, from novice to international competitor

All of our coaches, as members of the American Swim Coaches Association, have access to the most comprehensive training and certification program for youth coaches of any sport in the United States. They provide assurances that the time children spend in swimming will be quality time.

The Pueblo West Swim Club, a non profit club, is run by its Board of Directors which meets each month. All members are welcome at each meeting and encouraged to be involved in team activities and fundraisers.
