The Kona Dolphin
Swim Club was established in 1999 by owner and Assistant
Coach Kathy J. Clarke. The KDSC is a USA Swimming registered
age group club, participating in USA Swimming sanctioned events
year round. We have swimmers between the ages of 5 yr.old and
18 yr. old, in both beginner and advanced levels.
Our mission is to provide the children in our community
with an elite USA Swimming* Club program that will enhance their
physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual development by
incorporating daily work outs/practices, competitions and fund
raisers with other "fun" team activities, to promote life-long
healthy habits of self-discipline, goal-setting, commitment and
team spirit. We believe that a commitment to high standards of
behavioral, academic, and athletic performance will enable the
swimmers to become more productive members of society.
Our year round program offers a well rounded curriculum
consisting of flexibility work, breathing exercises, strength and
conditioning exercises, drills, pool and ocean swimming, as well as
lots of fun time in the water. Regular group discussions also
keep the swimmers abreast of other important issues in their
development. Some of the more popular topics we stress are
academics,nutrition,goal setting,extracurricular activitites,
community involvement, and health issues. Our occasional team
"powwows" prior to practice are always enjoyable adding an
intellectual element to the work out routine. Come swim with
the pod and see what you think!!
