Overall, we were at 80-85% best times which is amazing!!!!
Wish the Sectional athletes luck as they continue to train up to the Speedo Champion's Series meet in Pleasant Prairie, WI on Mar 13-16. We're looking for super fast swims!!! For those who don't know, Sectionals (also known as the Speedo Champion's Series) is the next step after Iowa Senior Championships. The cut times are right around senior AAA times and the meet hosts kids from all over the Northern Midwest. It's a great meet to race new faces from Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and a few other states. It is one of the bigger meets on our schedule with over 700 athletes attending each year. One year it was over 1000 athletes!!!
I would like to thank everybody for the work that they put in over the past 6 months. The athletes worked hard in (and around) the pool and the parents did a an amazing job hosting over 500 athletes at our Fall Invitational!! I'm excited for what this summer and the future hold!!
Thanks again and enjoy your break. Stay active!!! We will get all the Spring/Summer info out as soon as we can finalize the schedule.

A big shout out to all of the athletes who participated at both the ISI Regional meet in Ames and the ISI 12U State Championship meet in Iowa City over the past 2 weekends.
We had 30 athlete participate in Regionals, held at Ames High School. We had multiple best times and also made some more Q times. For those who aren't familiar with Iowa Swimming, Regionals is a championship level meet for those kids who have not yet reached the ISI Q time standards. It is very important meet because it is the final meet of the season for those athletes and gives them a great chance to rest up and swim fast.

We had 11 athletes compete at ISI 12 and Under Championships this past weekend in Iowa City at Mercer Park.

A few highlights:
?Sophia Hostetter - State Champ (400IM, 50, 100 and 200 Breaststroke and 200 backstroke in all new team records! Also, team record in 100 backstroke)
?Braden Wallace - Runner up in the 50 and 100 breaststroke and 3rd place in the 200 breaststroke
?Sayla Hostetter - 5th place in the 50 freestyle
?11-12 girls relays - 5th place 400 Medley relay, 6th place 200 Free relay, 200 Medley relay

Congrats to all athletes who participated!!! Thank you for being great ambassadors for DMSF.

Our team goal is always to have as many athletes participate at state as possible. Keep shooting for those Q times!!!!!!
