**RESULTS & TM
ONLINE** We have updated both the
Results page and the
TM Online site for this season. Both pages can be found
under the "Events/Meets" link above - you can view all the pages by
placing your mouse over the word title "Events/Meets". We are
still awaiting results for our club from the Minnesota Grand Prix
as well as full meet results from each meet.

**IHSA STATE
MEET** The IHSA Girls State
Championships are this weekend in Winnetka, Illinois. The
Bullets have 24 swimmers competing for 12 different high
schools. Be sure to check out our

**ARLINGTON MEET
UPDATE** There are some updates to the
Arlington Meet info that have been posted. Please visit the
Events/Meets page for updated and complete meet details.

**LOTS OF ENTRIES
POSTED** The preliminary entries for the
SCST 8&U Classic, the 2009 Nike Challenge, and the
Wheaton Team Challenge have been posted to the
Events/Meets page. Please note we had a number of
families sign up for both the Wheaton meet and the Nike Challenge
on the same weekend. We have entered those swimmers in both
meets and are awaiting families to notify of us of which one to
remove. If we do not hear from you, you will be entered and
billed for both meets. You must
email Coach Todd to make any changes to
these entries before 6:00 PM on Thursday, November 5th. No
changes will be made after that time. Please speak to your
group coach if you have any questions.

**VOLUNTEER SIGN-UP
OPEN** The "Volunteer Sign-up"
link for the 2010 Speedo Invitational is now available.
Online sign-up will only be open until 11:59 PM on Sunday, November
15th. All families are required to work two sessions of the

SIGNINGS** Congratulations to senior
Olivia Scott and her college decision.
Olivia has verbally comitted to attend Auburn University next
year. We wish Olivia the best of luck. Our College News
page has been updated and we await more news from our senior
swimmers.
10/28/09 - **COLLEGE
DECISIONS** We have a number of senior
swimmers that have chosen which college they will attend next
fall. Congratulations to the following swimmers on their
selections: Will Heidler (University of
Kentucky), Nicole Ligeza (University of
Utah), Diana Norkus (University of Kentucky),
Emma Williams (University of Illinois),
and Karolina Wartalowicz (University of
Iowa). Seem like a perfect fit for each one of you and all
the coaches wish you the best of luck in the coming years. We
still have many senior undecided and we will be updating our
College News page as more committments come in.

Time standards for the 2010 Regional Championships, the 2010 Age
Group Championships, and the 2010 Senior Championships have been

**ILLINOIS SWIMMING
AWARDS** A number of Bullet swimmers
were honored at the 2009 Illinois Swimming Awards Banquet.
Our team was recognized for winning the Carolyn Lambert Award
(Short Course Senior State Champions) and the Don Drumm Award
(Short Course and Long Course Age Group State Champions).
Individual Bullet swimmers singled out for their accomplishments
over the past year were:
Eric Ahlden, Kate Canfield,
Tyler Capen, Kally Fayhee, Jack Fergus, Sarah Fergus, Annie
Gosselin, Cody Heckendorf, Will Heidler, Kelsey Kunavich, Kelley
Lehane, Sean Lehane, Nicole Ligeza, Emily Mabrouk, Becca Mann,
Rylee Merges, Ally Michaels, Charles Miller, Sean Mulroy, Diana
Norkus, Courtney Pope, Mackenzie Powers, Albert Roth, Kara
Savegnago, Mimi Schneider, Olivia Scott, Alex Van Oost, Karolina
Wartalowicz, Anna Williams, and Emma Williams. The
Academy Bullets were the most recognized swim club with 30 swimmers
acknowledged for their achievements. Congratulations to

**FIVE BULLETS
HONORED** Congratulations to the five
Bullet swimmers recognized this week for their achievements in and
our of the pool.
Nicole Ligeza, Courtney Pope,
Mackenzie Powers, Alex Van Oost, and Karolina Wartalowicz
were honored as members of the USA Swimming Scholastic
All-America Team. The scholastic All-America team is open to
all 10th-12th grade members who have a 3.5 GPA or better and
achieve a junior national bonus time standard or swim in a selected
disability championship meet or Open Water National Championships.

**APPAREL ORDER**
We will have Swimmers Edge at all of our facilities next week to do
an apparel fitting for the swimmers. They will be at the
pools from 5:30-6:30 PM on the following dates: Marmion on
9/22, Vaughan on 9/23, and Lewis on 9/24. Click here for the

dates, you can order over the phone or via our Apparel link above.
Just a reminder, all swimmers must have a team suit to compete in

**JUNIOR NATIONAL
RESULTS** The Bullets have 5 swimmers
attending the 2009 Speedo Junior Nationals in Federal Way, WA on
August 10th thru 14th. Competing in the meet are:
Will Heidler, Courtney Pope, Nicole Ligeza, Mackenzie
Powers, and Karolina Wartalowicz. Good luck to

**CENTRAL ZONE
RESULTS** Bullet swimmers were extremely
successful at the 2009 Central Zone Championships. The team
had 12 swimmers respresent Team Illinois at this exciting
event. Way to go Bullets!
Sean Lehane
is the 2009 Zone Champion in the 13/14 Boys 100 & 200 Back in
personal best times of 1:02.88 and 2:12.83. Congratulations
Sean! We will post a full recap, results, and new records as
soon as we receive the meet results from the host club.

**AGE GROUP STATE
CHAMPIONS** The Academy Bullets won
their 5th consecutive Age Group State Championship this past
weekend at Stevenson High School. it was the Bullets 8th team
championship over the past 9 seasons. The Bullets were in a
tough battle all weekend and prevailed over some very tough
competition. Congratulations to all our swimmers on a great
meet!

**SECTIONAL
RESULTS** The Bullets had an outstanding
showing at the 2009 Speedo Sectional Meet. The team finished
4th place overall and 3rd in the women’s standings.
Olivia Scott was sectional champion in the 100 Fly
and 200 IM. A complete recap of the meet, including top
finishers and record breakers, can be found on the

**NEW WORLD
RECORD!!** Congratulations to former
Academy Bullet
Mary Descenza on her world record
performance in the Women’s 200 Fly at the 2009 World
Championships. It is only the third record in recent memory to be
held by an Illinois swimmer. Congratulations Mary!

4/20/09 - **MASTERS STATE
CHAMPS** At this weekend’s ILMSA
Short Course State Championships, Lida Kuehn won
five events (50 Free, 50-100 Fly, 100-200 IM) in th women’s
45-49 age group, while Stephanie Dold won the
women’s 18-24 200 IM. Todd Walter, who
joined the Bullets in September, broke Iowa state records in
men’s 40-44 1000 & 1650 Freestyle events in his
final meet representing Iowa Masters. Coach Chris
Colburn was named 2009 ILMSA Coach of the Year!
Congratulations to everyone who participated. Way to go

3/30/09 - **NEW BULLETS
COACH!!** We are excited to announce
that we have a new coach joining the Academy Bullets.
Mike Laurich will be the Head Coach of our Lewis
University team. Mike has spent the past 4 years as the Head
Coach of the Lyons Swim Club and is one of the most successful and
well respected coaches in the state. We are thrilled to have
Mike lead our Lewis Team and help grow the program in the coming
years. Please feel free to email Mike at mlaurich@gmail.com and welcome him
to the team! He looks forward to seeing everyone on deck

- **ZONE SELECT
CAMP** Congratulations to Kevin
Butz, Nick Bessler, and Sean Lehane
on their selection to the USA Swimming Zone Select Camp. This
is an opportunity for some of the fastest young athletes in the
country to train and learn together as they move towards national

3/26/09 - **JUNIOR NATIONAL
RECAP** The Bullets had an excpetional
meet in Orlando, Florida last week at the NCSA Junior National
Championships. The Bullets finished 8th Overall and 3rd as a
Women’s team...the highest finish by any club in
Illinois. There were 3 National Championship perfromances
over the week: Olivia Scott (50 Fly),
Women’s 200 Free Relay,and the
Women’s 400 Free Relay. Please go to

3/25/09 - **BULLETS
WIN AGE GROUP STATE!** The Academy
Bullets won their 4th consecutive Age Group State Championship on
March 13th thru 15th. The Bullets won by nearly 500 points to
capture their 7th age group state title. Congratulations to

3/25/09 - **SENIOR STATE
CHAMPIONS!** The Bullets won their
second consecutive short course Senior State Championship this
season and only the second team title in Bullets history.
With a fairly young group of swimmers attending, this is a
tremendous feat for our swim team. Congratulations to
everyone who was part of this state championship performance.
