Building Character Through Competitive Swimming

The North Whidbey Aquatic Club is a North Whidbey Park and Recreation District program for competitive swimmers ages 6 through college.  NWAC swimmers enjoy a variety of activities such as swim meets, team trips to the waterslides at Birch Bay, team bowling nights, water polo and other water games, BBQ’s, relays that earn swimmers points toward a pizza feed, monthly cake days and more.  Members of NWAC also enjoy free admission to any swims offered by the pool such as lap swims, open swims, etc. and free admission to any special events such as Haunted Swamp, etc.

Anyone wishing to join the swim team can tryout at John Vanderzicht Memorial Pool in Oak Harbor every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 4:45 to 5:30 or Saturday 9 to 10 a.m.  New swimmers should be able to swim a length of the pool in freestyle and backstroke. The first two weeks are free. Although competing is encouraged, it is not mandatory.  For more information, please call the pool (360-675-7665) to speak with Head Coach Neil Romney.
