The Redding
Swim Team was established in 1952. Our objective is to
provide a swim team for the youth in Shasta County . Our mission is to provide physical, emotional, and
social growth of swimmers through training and competition.
The team is managed by the head coach and supervised by a board of
directors. We are one of the largest and most comprehensive
swim organizations in the North State .
The Aqua
Ducks, a year round competitive swim program for children 4-18
years of age. Our focus is on the long-term
development of each child, realizing that all children are
different and will progress at their own rate. In order
to provide a well-rounded program for all the participants we offer
nine swim levels. Swimmers are placed into groups based
upon their desire, ability and age (maturity). Each child
will be placed into the group that best suits their ability as
determined by the coach and the athlete. Our long-term
development philosophy continues to produce some of the best local,
regional, and national swimmers in the North State
.
Summer Ducks,
designed for recreational swimmers who would like to develop
swimming skills and participate in a summer swim meet
venue. Our emphasis is on teaching the four primary
strokes, racing dives and turns. Above all, have fun and
learn about this great sport.
Swim America
Swim Lessons, a learn to swim program, that emphasizes
swim instruction and water safety. This program is a step by step
program to help children progress from a non swimmer to being able
to master skills so that a child is proficient and
safe. We don’t just wait until a child finishes
a session before we move them up. We meet the child’s
needs and their accomplishments as they progress.
Masters
(Adults), adults have the opportunity improve their
swimming skills, participate in an organized workout or have an
alternate physical activity. We have a coach on deck daily to
assist you in any of your swimming questions and provide assistance
to increase your swimming abilities.
A one week try
out period is available. To become a member, the
registration packet must be completed and all fees paid before a
swimmer may enter the water. The registration packet can be
downloaded on our website, or picked up at the pool during
practice, or by calling the office, 246-2666, and we will mail the
information to you. Our swimming program is the best-priced
value in the sports community.
If you have
any questions, please do not hesitate to call our office at
246-2666 or email us reddingswimteam@yahoo.com
We look
forward to your participation.
