Woodlands Dolphin’s Swim Team

The Dolphins
Swim Team of the High Woodlands Homeowners Association is a member
of the Midlakes Swim League in Division 5. We swim one meet a
week from Kirkland to Bellevue. There are 5 regular meets and
2 championship meets. Practices start May
17th and will be Mondays through Thursdays from 6:00
- 9:00 pm until May 27th. From June 1 - June 16th practices
will be from 6:30 - 9:00 pm and then from June 21st to July 15th
practices will be in the mornings from 6:45 am to 9:45 am.
Please see the age group calendar for
specific times. The meets begin June
17th ending with the Division Champs on July 17th. July
24th is the League Championship if your swimmer
qualifies.
Swim Team is
almost here! Jeannette Elmore and Edie Lie will be
co-managing the 2010 season. Crystal Lee will continue as
Pool Manager and assisting the managers.
We are happy
to welcome back our coaching team, Annie Price and Kaila Lee
co-coaches, from last season. Both have year round
coaching experience, are USA Swim Coach
certified and have worked with the Midlakes Summer
League. Both bring enthusiasm and experience and are excited for a
successful swim season!

again be conducting a mail in registration. The cost will

in ALL forms before your registration will
be processed.To secure a spot on the team and allow timely
processing of the information, registration forms must
be postmarked by May 7, 2010.
Those postmarked after this date will be charged the higher fee as
shown above.
Eligibility:
All swim
team applicants MUST be able to swim 25 yards of crawl stroke
without touching the bottom of the pool or holding on to the lane
lines, (deep water safe). The coaches reserve the right to refer
any child to swim lessons who does not meet this condition or is
unable to pay attention or follow instruction. This is a safety
issue and will not be deviated from. Please remember that swim team
is not a substitute for swim lessons. If a child is referred to
swim lessons, the full registration fee will be refunded for
that child. If the child withdraws, please inform the team manager
by May 28th, and a full refund will be available. After that
date , the registration fees are forfeited. In order to promote
team unity we will be requiring swimmers to attend practices during
the week in order to swim at the meets.
Swim
Suits:
We will
have a new team swimsuit this year. TYR Blue
Eternal Flame. These will
be ordered online. We will have suits to try on for sizing if
needed before the parents
meeting.
Practices:
The first
workout will be on May 17th at the pool. This is a very busy
night for the coaches and lifeguards so please have your child come
to the practice they are scheduled for. We will be having practices
from 6:00 - 9:00 PM until school is out, then we will have
practices from 7:00 - 9:45 AM. Practices are Mondays through
Thursdays. Practice times for specific age groups can be view on
the age group calendar.
Parent’s
Meeting:
All
parents please plan to attend an informational meeting May 17th at
the park under the covered shelter. From 5:30 - 6:45 pm will
be a time to meet the coaches, dry swimsuit fittings and order
sweatshirts. The parents meeting will start at 7:00 PM.

Volunteers:
Swim team
is impossible to run without parent volunteers. We need your help
and commitment. We expect every family to work at every home meet
their child swims in and help at one away meet. Sign ups
will be available online after May 17th. The best jobs go
fast!!
This year we have many team

descriptions. Some of the team positions offer a reduced
rate for your swimmers registration
fees.
