The Clopper’s Mill Marlins Team
The Clopper’s Mill Marlin swim team was first established in 1996 and competed in the Gaithersburg-Germantown Swim League through 2004. In 2005 we joined the Montgomery County Swim League (MCSL) starting in the O Division and moved up quickly to the K Division. During that time, we won the Divisionals in 2005, took 2nd place in 2006, won the Divisionals again in 2007 and placed 3rd in our division in 2008. We are looking forward to an exciting and fun filled 2010 season.
Our Community
The Clopper’s Mill Marlins extends a sincere thank you to the East and West side Homeowner Associations for their financial support of our team. All children ages 5-18 who reside in the East and West communities of the Clopper’s Mill Neighborhood are eligible to participate on the swim team.
MCSL League
The Montgomery County Swim League (MCSL) sponsors competative swimming among the swimming pools throughout Montgomery County. The goals of the program include helping young people establish a love for the sport of swimming, advanced aquatic skills, teamwork and the principles of good sportsmanship. The league was establised in the late 1950’s and today has over 90 teams and approximately 7,000 swimmers. The league is organized by divisions, A through O. Each division has 6 teams with the most competative teams in division A and the least competitive in division O. We are currently in Division K.
Sarah Auer Memorial Scholarship Recipient
Congratulations are extended to our very own Marlin, Theresa Bajorek for being selected as one of the recipients of the Sarah Auer Memorial Scholarship awarded to MCSL swimmers each season. The 5 winners were announced at the Coaches Long Course Meet on 7/13/10. The Marlins are so proud of you Theresa! Congratulations and way to go!!

The team has purchased a "sizing kit". The kit will be available Sunday, 5/23 @ 5 pm during the Parent Parent Meeting at the West Clubhouse, during the first week of evening practices and during TIme Trials on 6/12. Germantown Help Food Drive
Every Friday morning practice from 6/18 to 7/16, we will be collecting a different food item for Germantown Help, the local food bank. They need our support so let’s show Marlin spirit and help our community!
