The Ripon Sea Lions Swim Team is a
recreation team that hits the water April 1st and swims through the
end of July. The goal of our team is to provide every member an
opportunity to improve their swimming skills and achieve success at
his or her level of ability from an individual as well as a team
standpoint.
The Ripon Sea Lions compete within the Mid Valley Swim League
(MVSL). The league consists of eight teams: Tracy Tritons, Manteca
Dolfins, Oakdale Gators, Turlock Marlins, Sea Dogs, Modesto
Sharks, Ceres Dolfins, and of course the Ripon Sea Lions.
Our meets consist of tri-meets with three teams competing and
invitational swim meets where all eight teams are represented. Last
year the Sea Lions took home three 3rd place trophies at the
invitational swim meets, and we are looking to improve upon this
for 2009.
The Sea Lions head coach, Ervin Zador, is a former Olympic water
polo champion who has coached the Sea Lions since 2002. Under
his direction, the Sea Lion team keeps growing stronger and
faster. Within the Sea Lions team are some of the fastest
within the MVSL league thanks to the coaching techniques and
practices of Ervin Zador and his staff.
