A Note  from Head Coach Sean Hutchison:

To Registering KING Families:

Welcome. Our 2009-2010 registration is now open, available, and for the first time, online!

KING has had another amazing year - thanks to our coaches, staff, families, and, of course, great athletes - big and small.  Together we continue to work towards our goal of being the best swimming team in the world.

On the ’dry-side’ of things, we have made changes in our billing and customer service areas with the addition of our new office manager, Lisa Vetterlein.  We continue to improve communications through expanding our website and what it offers to our members - culminated by the new online registration system we hope you will choose to use for registering this year.

The KING Booster Club, headed by President Tim Wold, continued its undying support.  Together, it ran some outstanding meets (thanks to meet director, Julia Hansen), funded multiple “team” functions, aided with athlete travel, and provided an invaluable volunteer base for a multitude of activities which enhance our swimmers’ experience.  All who volunteer and contribute time and energy to the booster club are the grease that makes the wheels turn.  Thank you!  Without you, KING wouldn’t be the great organization it is today.

In the pool, we continue to grow and develop our ever-evolving program.  We have an excellent staff and have recently added more coaches to ensure continued quality in our programs. We earnestly carry on with that endeavor.

Competitively, KING is building the reputation of being a dominant program not only in the Pacific Northwest, but within USA Swimming and beyond, into the international swimming scene.  Last summer, we won another Pacific Northwest Swimming Title (consecutive wins since winter 2002!), Western Senior Sectional Title, Age Group Sectional Team Titles in March, and, for the first time in KING history, we won a National Team Title!  KING women’s team was the 2008 US National Short Course Team Champions.

Lastly, but definitely not least, since the intro letter last year, KING had its first Olympic medalists, the epitome of our sport. Megan Jendrick won a silver medal; Margaret Hoelzer, two silvers and one bronze medal, in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.  (Might I add, I was also selected as a USA Coach!)

What a great year!!

As mentioned prior, we strive to keep improving our program both in and out of the water.  As an unfortunate by-product of improving quality, taking on increasing inflation and operational costs, we have the need to raise dues this year.  Click here for an outline of some changes, along with a comparison of dues structures with some of our local competitors.

As always, we hope that your experience with our KING family is a great one.  Sit back, relax (but don’t forget to volunteer), and let our coaches do what they know how to do - teach our swimmers to become great athletes and great people.

Good luck and GO KING!

Kind Regards

Sean Hutchison
