Team Admissions Policy
The executive board of the Riverside Aquatics Association (RAA) reserves the right to deny membership to anyone based on actions, past or present, that do not support the mission of RAA. Past members that have been asked to leave RAA or have chosen to join another team in Southern California may be denied re-entry. Other reasons for denial may include, but are not limited to public defamation of RAA, threatening actions toward any member, parent, board member, or coach, their account was not in good standing when their previous membership lapsed, or purposeful destruction of club property.
RAA’s method of payment is credit or debit card. You will be asked for this information at the end of the registration process.
Please read all the agreements thoroughly before electronically ‘signing’ them as there are some changes from last year. You are entering into a contract which includes fundraising and volunteer requirements and RAA’s policies. You will be responsible for all the commitments you make when you “sign” these online documents.
For new members – prior to registering online your swimmer(s) will need to be assessed by an RAA coach. To do this please go to the pool for an evaluation on the dates posted on the website. Bring your swimmer(s) ready to swim, with a towel and we highly recommend swim goggles. Once you have your swimmer’s squad assignment return here to our electronic registration platform and enter all the required information. You will be asked to electronically ‘sign’ several agreements. Please be sure to read them before signing as you are agreeing to our policies along with our fundraising and volunteer requirements. Be sure to enter the correct squad for your swimmer(s). You will be billed incorrectly at check out if you register into the wrong group. Once you have completed the electronic portion you will need to complete your registration by meeting with the RAA Office Assistant at the Sippy Woodhead pool. Registration is open September 5, 6 and 7, from 4pm until 6pm and every Monday and Friday from 4:30pm until 5:30pm or by appointment after that. Please bring with you a check or cashiers check for the amount of your swimmer’s SCS fees, made payable to SCS along with an original of your swimmer’s birth certificate or passport. This will be returned to you as soon as the birth date and name have been verified. The SCS fee is $66 per swimmer, unless your child qualifies for the State Reduced Fee Lunch program. In this case the fee will be $7 per swimmer. If you are signing up for the reduced SCS fee you will be required to provide an ORIGINAL of your lunch letter at that time. This will not be returned. Whichever fee you are paying you’ll need to complete the USA Swimming Registration form on deck. The SCS fee is the insurance coverage for each swimmer in the water. RAA collects this fee and submits it to SCS for you. The final step to completing your registration is for you and your swimmer to read and sign the RAA Swimmer Code of Contact. Until your registration is complete your swimmer(s) will not be added to RAA’s roster. They can, however, swim for up to 2 weeks while you complete this process. Failure to complete the process in a timely manner will result in suspension of swimming privileges until the matter is resolved.
Returning members paying the reduced SCS fee will, after registering, need to meet with the RAA Office Assistant at the Sippy Woodhead pool on September 5th, 6th and 7th.. The registration table will be open from 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm each evening. As you go through the registration process online please read all the agreements thoroughly before electronically ‘signing’ them as there are several changes from last year. You are entering into a contract which includes fundraising and volunteer requirements and RAA’s policies. You will be responsible for all the commitments you make when you “sign” these online documents
For new and returning year-round members, the registration module will deduct 15% from the total dues for families with more than one (1) swimmer. For all future dues throughout the year families will see a 25% discount for their 2nd swimmer and a 20% discount for all subsequent swimmers, after two (2). All families will be charged a $60 per family annual registration fee at check out. This fee will include two team tee shirts for your swimmer.
Masters swimmers – both new and returning. As a member of our Masters program you will need to purchase membership to Southern Pacific Masters Association (SPMA). You are responsible to do this within 2 weeks of joining our program. Failure to do so will result in suspension of swimming privileges until the matter is resolved.
