 Joining Dynamo

Competitive Team:

All interested new Dynamo Swimmers are asked to attend an evaluation at one of our facilities.  During that evaluation( evaluation schedule), a member of our staff will observe the athlete performing all four strokes, and talk the athlete and parents through the registration process, and make an appropriate placement within Dynamo.  Group Evaluations are arrangd in the spring and summer, and conducted on an individual basis throughout the year.  If interested in joining at the Chamlbee Facility, please contact Coach Ben Rae at 770-457-7946x15.  If interested in our Alpharetta facility, contact Coach Rich Murphy at 770-772-6007x13.

Dynamo Juniors Program

All interested in our non-competitve Team program are asked to attend the group evaluations as well. If you cannot attend one, please contact the appropriate coach at each facility as listed above.  Dynamo Juniors is offered at both the Chamblee and Alpharetta (fall 2009) location, and the groups meet twice a week for each session.  ( more information)

Home School Program

Home School participants are asked to go through the normal evaluation process listed above.  If you have any additional questions, want information, or to help publicize the group, please contact Coach Ben or Coach Rich. 

2009-2010 MEMBERSHIP FINANCIAL MATTERS

Since your child is swimming for the Dynamo Swim Club, you are a member of the Dynamo Parents’ Club, Inc. As such, you need to be aware of various financial commitments, which come with your membership. Therefore, we request that you carefully read the following. If you have any questions, please call Edie Wunderlich at 770-457-7946 @10.

REGISTRATION FEE

Each swimmer must pay an annual non-refundable registration fee of $185 through the online registration on the Dynamo website. Returning members are asked to register by June 1, 2009 to secure their spot on the roster. This fee covers the cost of USA Swimming/Georgia Swimming Registration, “Splash” magazine, team t-shirts as well as officials hospitality for our meets. A swimmer will not be allowed to begin practice until the registration fee(s) are received.  New swimmer registrations will begin on June 3, 2009

DUES

Dues for the 2009-2010 swim year covers September 1, 2009-August 31, 2010:
1. Nine (9) monthly payments: The first month’s payment will be billed on July 21st for the August invoice, and the remaining 8 months billed October through May 1, 2010. The remaining eight (8) payments are due the first of each month, starting October 1. Invoices are produced and posted online on the 21st of each month, and due on the first of the following month.  Payment is considered late after the 10th, and a $25.00 late fee is assessed on the 21st for any account with a balance, regardless of it is for non-payment or paying an incorrect lesser amount.  Late fees will not be reversed.  Invoices are posted for every (12) month, as meet entry fees and other charges may post.  

Dues are paid for an entire month if a swimmer is registered during any part of the month. Dynamo does not pro-rate months.  A swimmer is not withdrawn for the program until the club has received written notification of the departure to the Chamblee office. A swimmer will not be allowed to participate in the Dynamo program if their financial obligations to the club are more than 30-days delinquent, unless alternative arrangements have been made.

ENTRY FUND

Dynamo no longer keeps a separate meet entry account for each family/account.  All meet entry and other fees are posted to your account and will show up on your monthly bill.  Please read your bills and make sure you are paying the correct amount, as paying an incorrect amount could trigger a late fee.  Each athlete is charged a $3.00 fee for each meet for administrative and Team costs at meets.

VOLUNTEERISM

Volunteering is an essential part of Dynamo. Volunteers are necessary in key positions to work at Dynamo hosted meets. The Dynamo Swim Club requires that parents of each swimmer volunteer to work one to three sessions of each Dynamo hosted swim meet in which their child is entered. (There may be situations in which you are called upon to volunteer for a meet in which your child is not entered). It is understood that you will work the entire session in which you are assigned or you are responsible to find a replacement to complete your assignment.

As of September 2009, Dynamo will use the website for job sign-ups and tracking volunteer hours.  You will be asked, at the same time you ‘commit’ your athletes to particular meets, to commit to volunteering as well.
