The minimum skill requirements for Coho are: Individuals ages 5 and over must be able to swim 1 length of freestyle with rhythmic breathing (face in the water, turning the head to the side to breathe), 1 length of backstroke, demonstrate basic breaststroke, be able to go underwater to the bottom of the pool in the shallow end, and be comfortable swimming in the deep end. Swimmers who can successfully complete this criterion will be placed in a group based on age and ability.

We focus on helping swimmers of all ages and abilities have fun, develop friendships, set goals, and experience success in the best possible team setting. We aim to instill a sense of Spirit, Character and Pride in all participants, and we strive to assist our swimmers in becoming outstanding individuals in all aspects of life, even beyond their athletic achievements.

If you have any questions about joining Coho please contact Jeff Napolski at: jeff@teamcoho.org or 847-572-2626. If you cannot attend either of the scheduled tryout evenings, you may also contact Coach Jeff to set up an appointment to tryout. We have tryout times available during the day, evenings and weekends so if you leave a message please indicate your general availability.

If you are switching from another team you must complete the ISI transfer form (available under the FORMS/DOCUMENTS tab). Please inform a coach at tryouts if you have been registered with another club.

Visit the Groups tab at the top of the website for more details about our specific training groups.
