Thank you for your interest in the Mississippi Makos Swim Team!
 
Tryouts:
 Mississippi Makos Swim Team accepts swimmers of all ages and abilities onto the team throughout the year.  Before joining our team, we ask that you come to have your swimmer evaluated for group placement and to learn more about our team.  This evaluation will help determine your swimmer’s correct group placement and give you an opportunity to talk to the coaches and parents of swimmers currently on the team.  Please have your swimmer bring a swimsuit, goggles and towel.

If you would like your swimmer to be evaluated, please contact us with the following information and a representative will get back with you to set up a time for your swimmer to be evaluated.

  • Swimmer’s name
  • Swimmer’s age and birthdate
  • Parent name
  • Previous swimming experience
  • Contact phone number
  • If you are interested in swimming in Jackson, NE/Madison or Clinton
Annual USA Swimming Membership:
Every Mississippi Makos Swim Team swimmer is required to join USA Swimming because this membership covers the team’s liability at the pool and swim meets.  If the swimmer has not paid for this membership, he/she will NOT be allowed to swim.  The cost of USA Swimming membership for the 2009-2010 year is $52.
 
In addition to this yearly insurance, Mississippi Makos requires monthly dues and an annual registration fee as shown below. 
Fee Structure:

Monthly Dues:

First Swimmer       $60 
Second Swimmer $50
Third Swimmer     $30
Fourth & more      Free
                                                   
* Courthouse members receive 25% off.
* If you want to pay for the year in advance, there is a 5% discount.
* No one is charged for the month of August.
 
Annual Registration Fee:

Per Family            $75
After May 1            $30
Returning family who paid all 12 months     $25
 
Commitments:

White, Blue and Bronze Groups
Month-by-month commitment.  These swimmers pay only during the months that they swim.  If the swimmer swims for at least one day in a month, the swimmer is obligated to pay for the entire month.  You need to notify us by email by the 20th of the previous month of your intent to cancel. 

 Silver Group
9-month commitment.   These swimmers must pay 9-months of dues even if the swimmer does not swim the entire 9 months.  After the 9 months you are on monthly commitment and need to notify us by the 20th of the previous month if you intend to cancel.

Gold and Senior Groups
12-month commitment.  These swimmers must pay 12-months of dues even if the swimmer does not swim the entire 12 months.
