Instruction
Swimmers ages 5-9
This is a program for the beginner swimmer. The emphasis in the
program is on learning and perfecting the four competitive
strokes.
Dives and turns. Swimmers do not have to be able
to swim the length of the pool but must not be afraid of the
water.
MEETS
Meets should average out to around 1.5-2 per month- depending
on the month. Again, we will have the list out of meets, and
the bigger ones we expect people to go to.
AG is allowed to go to any meets that they like. Some
are time-based, and then they can go only if they have the
time. But most early on are not.
Instruction do not attend meets.
AGE GROUP
1-2-3:
Swimmers ages
7-15
Requirements:
must be able to swim 50 yards freestyle. Swimmers will learn
all techniques needed to swim competitively on a swimming team.
This section of our program emphasizes learning correct stroke
technique in a safe and swimmer friendly environment! Meets are
encouraged but OPTIONAL. All swimmers in this group are full
members of our program. It is for anyone that does not want
to do ALL aspects of JO. Age group focus is on stroke
technique, but there will be training involved, not just quite as
intense as JO-as it is a shorter time length. If there is a
swimmer that works hard and begins to follow the criteria of JO
– they may be moved up.
JUNIOR OLYMPIC
Swimmers ages
9-15
This is the
program for the advanced age group competitive swimmer with
challenging swim practices. Swimmers are required to attend area
meets. In September, during the parents meeting, swimmers will be
provided a list of meets that we would like them to attend. Jo will
range in intensity due to age, however, for kids 11 and older it
should be quite hard. This program emphasizes stroke
technique, but the practices will be challenging. Swimmers
must attend 3 practices per week, but would prefer 4. ((9
year olds must have permission from Coach Margot to attend).
Swimmers who participate in this section of our program have long
range goals of competing on their high school teams as well as
competing in district and regional USA
competitions.
ELITE/HIGH SCHOOL
Swimmers ages 14-18
This program is for the advanced senior
swimmer. This program emphasizes stroke technique as well as
preparing our swimmers for district, sectional and national
competition. In 2008 we qualified two swimmers for Olympic
Trials-the most in the KC area- and have had over 200 High School
All Americans. We currently have D1-D2-D3 swimmers competing at
NCAA Championships. Our swimmers are outstanding individuals in and
out of the pool! If you wish to be challenged and to swim FAST we
encourage you to join us!
MASTERS
We offer morning practices for members of our JO
and ELITE team as well as for adults.
