Frequently Asked Questions

Are there any swimming or age requirements to join?

Your child or adolescent needs to be able to swim on his or her own. It is preferred that swimmers have previously completed at least some swim lessons. Our program is designed for swimmers 6-18 years of age.  We do, however, have swimmers as young as 5 years of age (typically younger siblings of older swimmers).  Our most inexperienced swimmers practice in lane 1 for only 45-60 minutes 3-5 days per week, rather than the full practice time. Our professional coaches work with swimmers to teach them the four main swim strokes (freestyle, backstroke, butterfly and breaststroke).

How do I start?

Contact Tanya Ramsey, Team Support Coordinator at (360) 667-0381 to arrange a free, trial practice with our swim team at Hough Pool. We keep a supply of the necessary paperwork for your swimmer to get started at the pool. Please be sure to bring the necessary swim gear (swim suit, goggles, towel and water bottle) for your swimmer, although we do maintain a moderate supply of swim gear at the pool that is available for purchase.

Where is Hough Pool located?
