Registration for 2009-2010 Season

 

Registration Process For Buenaventura Swim Club   2009-2010

AGE GROUP SWIMMERS

 

1.    Meet with coach for placement into appropriate age-group for training.

 2.     Send an email to buenadollars@mailtransport.net. Please include your name, address, email address, birth date and Group that the Coach placed you in.(ie Age Group I, II, or III) Once this is received an account will be created and an email sent to you, so that you can complete the registration process online. There is a $50.00 one time registration fee for all new members. 

3.   Fill out USA Swimming registration form, and return to coach with a copy of birth certificate and a check for $55.00 payable to Southern California Swimming. 

4.   Make sure you have your picture taken at the front desk of the Ventura Aquatics Center. Every swimmer is required to show a picture id when entering the Ventura Aquatics Center. 

 

 

FUNDRAISING & VOLUNTEER POLICY

 

The following Family Fundraising and Volunteer Service Policy Is effective September 2010


1.
Fundraising:
Each swimmer is required to fundraise $200 for Age Group II and III, and $300 for Age Group I, and Senior I and II per 12 month season to aid in general team expenses. Fundraising will be prorated as of the month the swimmer joins the team (full months prorate only at $16 or $25 per month).  Any outstanding balance will be due August 21th, 2010. Prorated fundraising balances will be due immediately if a swimmer leaves the team mid-season.
2. Tracking Fundraising and Balance Due: As fundraising monies are earned they should be submitted to fundraising@mailtransport.net. Once we receive your hours via email, they will be deducted from your account. Your balance will be available for viewing on our website via your secure log-in ID and password. You will be emailed a statement.  A final statement will be emailed to you in July 2010 with fundraising balance. Please review your statement and make sure that it is accurate.The balance will be due August 21th, 2010.  If you choose to pay by check, your payment must be received by August 15th, 2010. Any outstanding balance will be billed to your Credit Card on file on August 21th, 2010. You are responsible for submitting your fundraising figures and for checking your fundraising account. Any questions about the balance due must be sent to fundraising@mailtransport.net at least two weeks prior to the credit card billing date.

3. Volunteer Hours: Each family is required to work 30 volunteer service hours per season (or prorated if you join after the beginning of the season). 8 of the 30 required hours must be worked in preparation of or during the four day June Age Group Champs meet on June 24-27, 2010.  For each hour not worked, your account will be charged $25 per hour. All service hours are due by August 21th, 2010. Prorated volunteer balances will be due immediately if a swimmer leaves the team mid season.

If you sign-up online for our home meets, the hours you work will automatically be posted to your account after the completion of the meet. If we receive your hours via email, they will be deducted from your account. Your balance will be tracked and available for viewing on our website via your secure log-in ID and password. A final statement will be emailed in July 2010 with any outstanding fundraising balance. Please review your statement and make sure that it is accurate. Any outstanding balance will be due August 21th, 2009. If you choose to pay by check, your payment must be received by August 15th, 2010. Any outstanding balance will be billed to your Credit Card on file on August 21th, 2010 at the rate of $25 per hour.  You are responsible for submitting your volunteer hours and for checking your volunteer account to be sure the hours are accurate. Any questions about the balance due must be sent to volunteerhours@mailtransport.net at least two weeks prior to the credit card billing date.

1st Half of Season:

11/09     BSC Home Swim Meet (volunteer hours credit, 100% fundraising credit for ads)

 

 


2nd Half of Season:

March 2010     BSC Home Swim Meet (volunteer hours credit, 100% fundraising credit for ads)

 Feb/March 10  Swim-A-Thon (80% credit to fundraising)

 MAY  10    BSC Home Swim Meet (volunteer hours credit, 100% fundraising credit for ads)

JUNE 10     BSC Home Swim Meet (volunteer hours credit, 100% fundraising credit for ads)

 Ongoing:

            Direct Donations (100% fundraising credit)

            Obtaining Corporate Sponsorships ($100 credit for every $500 donation)

            SCRIP (credit toward fundraising, % varies) Need to provide Club with Statement

            Program Ad Sales(100% fundraising credit)

 

 

 

INACTIVE POLICY

 

Buenaventura Swim Club realizes that circumstances can change over the course of the season.  The following policies will apply when a leave of absence is necessary. In all cases the parent or the swimmer is required to send an email when any of these changes occur to buenadollars@mailtransport.net.

 

  1. Less that 30 days:  If a swimmer is out for less than 30 days due to injury or illness, all dues, fundraising and service hours are due in full at the time stated in the Family contract.

 

  1. Over 30 days but less than 4 months:  If a swimmer requests a temporary leave of absence for longer than 30 days but less than 4 months due to illness or injury, then the following will apply:

 

  1. Dues will be payable thru the end of the last month the swimmer participated regardless of the number of days actually swum in that month.  There will be no prorating.
  2. The month of return will be payable in full regardless of the number of days the swimmer is in the water that month. There will be no prorating.
  3. All fundraising and service hours will be due in full.
  4. High School Swimmers participating in High School Sports: If a High School swimmer is participating in a High School sport and will not be attending more than three practices per week with the Buenaventura Swim Club, the dues will be $65.00 per month.  This fee will enable the swimmer to hold a spot on the team, receive a monthly newsletter, participate in swim meets and work out no more than 3 times per week with the Buenaventura Swim Club. It is the responsibility of the parent or the swimmer to email the treasurer to qualify for this status to buenadollars@mailtransport.net

 

  1. Over 4 months: if a swimmer quits the club or is out of the water for longer than four months, the following will apply:

 

  1. Dues will be payable thru the end of the last month the swimmer participated regardless of the number of days actually swum that month. There will be no prorating.
  2. Fundraising and service requirements will be limited to whatever has been paid. If the swimmer returns to the team any unpaid fundraising and service hours must be paid in full before reinstatement. There will be a $25.00 reinstatement fee.
  3. Dues for the month of return will be payable in full regardless of the days actually swim that month.  There will be no prorating.

 

4.   Special Circumstances:  The Board and Coaches will review and decide on special circumstances such as extended illness, loss of job, divorce or other similar situations. These will be decided on a case-by case basis.
