REGISTRATION PROCEDURES
Step 1: The San
Clemente Aquatics Team registration procedure begins with a swimmer
evaluation by a coach. The swimmer must be able to swim a
minimum of one length (25yds) of freestyle and one length of
backstroke. Swimmers who do not meet this requirement are
encouraged to sign up for swim lessons with a local program.*
To schedule a try-out, please email Coach Mike
Eber.
Step 2: Once evaluated,
the swimmer will be placed in the appropriate group based on age
and ability (and group openings). If there are no openings,
your swimmer can be placed on a waiting list.
Step
3: Complete the registration forms located on
our website at www.scatswim.org. They are located under MEMBERSHIP INFO.
Step
4: The completed registration forms and all
fees must be submitted on the first day of practice. You will also
be required to complete a Southern California Swimming registration
form. You will receive this form from
your coach on the first day of practice. It is mandatory to show an
original birth certificate or passport at the time of
registration. Please also provide a
copy of your swimmers birth certificate or passport for our
records. ALL REGISTRATION FORMS,
VERIFICATION OF BRITH CERTIFICATE AND PAID FEES MUST BE COMPLETED
PRIOR TO OR (DURING) THE SWIMMERS FIRST PRACTICE. For
additional information, you can contact our Team Administrator Kymberly Sabins.
All Fees
can be paid by cash, check or credit card. We accept VISA, MasterCard and American
Express. (If paying by check, all fees can be combined on one
check).
·
FAMILY REGISTRATION fee is $75. This is a one-time fee
as long as your swimmer does not become inactive for more than 12
months.
·
SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA SWIMMING REGISTRATION is
$55 per swimmer and this is an annual fee.
THE FIRST
MONTH’S FEES ARE DUE AT THE TIME OF REGISTRATION. WE DO NOT PRORATE THE MONTHLY SWIM DUES. (However, if a new swimmer starts after the 10th of
the of the month the first month’s dues will be
adjusted. Any credit will be reflected on the next
month’s invoice).
*Swimmers
who do not pass the evaluation are encouraged to contact KISS
(Kayne’s Individual Swim School) at (949) 366-2132 for
individual swim lessons.
MEMBERSHIP DUES/BILLING
POLICY
San Clemente Aquatic Team (SCAT) has served the tri-city area since
1975. Unfortunately SCAT face’s many challenges
for pool space and will again be forced to limit the number of
swimmers who are anxious to be a part of our program.
When is payment due?
Invoices are processed and available on the web site on the 22nd of
each month. Swim dues are due by the 10th of the month
and considered late on the 11th. A late fee of
$10.00 may be assessed to any account with a balance due on the
11th of that month. If your account becomes 30
days past due and no communication has been made, an invoice will
be emailed to your email of record to inform you that your child
will be unable to practice until a payment on your account is
made.
How many practices must my child attend each
week?
With the younger kids and swimmers new to swimming, it is suggested
that they attend at least three practices a week, although they are
more than welcome to attend all five. The more advanced
groups are usually more committed and usually attend four or all
five of the practices offered weekly. No certain numbers of
practices are mandatory, and a child will not be punished for
having schoolwork or participating in other activities. There
is however, a direct correlation between good attendance and good
performance.
Do you prorate?
No. If you swim a specific month whether once or twenty
times, you will owe the full monthly dues. We have budgeted
for pool rental and coaching salaries based upon a full complement
of paid swimmers in each group each month. Therefore, in
order to maintain your swimmer’s place within the groups,
dues, must be paid promptly and consistently.
What do I do if my child is going to miss a month of practice or
decides not to swim?
Written notice either by mail (3919 Calle Ariana, SC 92672) or
email sanclementeswim@cox.net of intended leave
of absence must be submitted to Kym Sabins within 10 days prior to
said leave in order to be effective on a given date. If
notice is given within the month, you are responsible for the
month’s dues. You should discuss any changes in your
child’s status with their coach and then contact Kym as soon
as possible so that your account may be adjusted accordingly.
If you do not notify Kym, your account will be charged as though
your child was swimming for that period. To clear up any
billing problems, please contact Kym directly so that the problem
does not persist on future bills.
If your swimmer is inactive for any period of time that swimmer may
not compete in meets. A swimmer is considered inactive if
they do not pay dues. Should your swimmer choose to reactive
their membership, an activation fee of $25 per
swimmer will be charged upon becoming active and the swimmer
may resume meet attendance.
We will accept cash, checks, VISA, MASTERCARD or American Express
for dues payments. Additional authorization forms are
available on the web site. Credit Cards are automatically
debited on the 5th of the month.
If you have any question regarding the billing policy, please
contact Kym our Team Administrator.
