Enrollment: A prospective
team member will arrange to swim for one of our coaches during a
team workout. The coach will then assign the swimmer to one of our
groups according to age and ability. Registration needs to be
completed within seven days from the first day in the water. Parent
volunteers are available to assist in registration at the
pool.
Swimmers who have never participated on a U.S.
Swimming registered team will be required to show a birth
certificate of passport as proof of age in order to register. All
swimmers must register with Southern California Swimming. This body
provides insurance coverage for TSM swimmers and coaches.
Membership is also mandatory in order to compete in a swim
meet.
All joining swimmers must
bring completed registration forms, including Southern California
registration (with a check made out directly to Southern California
Swimming) and TSM dues payment. For swimmers joining after the
start of the quarter, the dues for the quarter will be pro-rated
(see TSM Membership Application).
Dues

March-May, and June-August. The cost per quarter is as

In
addition, each family must pay a $200 annual membership fee for the
Patron’s Fund. This fee is assessed during the Fall quarter.
Families joining at other times pay the this fee at the time of
joining. Registration and annual renewal of membership to
Southern California Swimming is also required for every
swimmer.
Dues statements are mailed out two weeks
before the beginning of September, December, March and June. Dues
become delinquent after the 5th day of these
months. A late charge of $15 will be added to your dues payment if
not received by the 15th. Also, there is a
$25 fee for returned checks. If the dues of a swimmer are
still outstanding on the 10th of the billing
month, the child will not be able to participate in workouts. If
there is a reason you cannot pay your dues, please discuss the
problem with the Treasurer. Special arrangements may be made in
confidence.
TSM depends on revenues from dues to pay our
coaches’ salaries, insurance, pool rental, life guards, etc.
We regret that we cannot afford for families to become delinquent
in their payments or to negotiate fees. A swimmer who chooses not
to attend workouts for a portion of a quarter is not entitled to
pro-rated fees. A swimmer who decides to pursue another interest
for the full quarter may take leave and pay a maintenance fee of
$100 for the quarter which will hold his place on the team. He/she
must return the following quarter or forfeit his place on the team.
Silver Group swimmers participating in high school swim team/water
polo team may pay 50% of the spring quarter fees which entitles
them to join TSM workouts as a supplement to their high school
practices.
If you have any
questions about any billing you have received, please contact the
Treasurer immediately at the number listed in the Roster.
